Bessel-Gauss Coherently Combined Beams
The application of a conical wavefront in the near field of the tiled aperture coherent beam combination (CBC) produces a “star-like” Bessel-Gauss irradiance pattern i.e. BG-CBC, in the far field. The properties of such a structured optical field were numerically investigated.

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Self-Synchronous Coherent Beam Combination [PDF]
A completely novel concept for coherent beam combination is presented. The technique completely eliminates the need for a reference beam resulting in a dramatic simplification of electronic coherent beam combination without any compromise in performance.

Transverse confinement of electron beams in a 2D optical lattice for compact coherent x-ray sources
Compact coherent x-ray sources have been the focus of extensive research efforts over the past decades. As a result, several novel schemes like optical and nano-undulators for generating x-ray emissions in ‘table-top’ setups are proposed, developed, and ...

This article presents an experimental and numerical modal investigation of composite sandwich structures using surfboards as model systems. By comparing different core materials and reinforcement strategies, the study demonstrates how local stiffeners influence vibrational response and introduce characteristic modal features, highlighting modal ...

A coherently combined laser beam for lidar
A fundamental way to improve the ability of lidar to detect the small target far away is to increase the light intensity on it, and the coherent combination of laser beams is an effective way to obtain a large intensity on the target. A parameter named combining effect factor is introduced to evaluate the combining effect on small target. On this basis,
