A DSP-free carrier phase recovery system using 16-offset-QAM laser forwarded links for 400 Gb/s and beyond

open access: yesFrontiers in Communications and Networks
Optical interconnects are becoming a major bottleneck in scaling up future GPU racks and network switches within data centers. Although 200 Gb/s optical transceivers using PAM-4 modulation have been demonstrated, achieving higher data rates and energy ...

Superpositions of the dual family of nonlinear coherent states and their non-classical properties

open access: yes, 2010
Nonlinear coherent states (CSs) and their {\it dual families} were introduced recently. In this paper we want to obtain their superposition and investigate their non-classical properties such as antibunching effect, quadrature squeezing and amplitude ...

The Synergism of β‐Cyclodextrin and Fe3+ Enabled Anti‐Swelling Ion‐Conductive Hydrogels for Multimodal Underwater Sensing Aided by Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An anti‐swelling ion‐conductive hydrogel is developed via β‐cyclodextrin and Fe3+ synergism, enabling reliable underwater motion sensing and Morse code communication. Integrated with machine learning, the system achieves 98.6% accuracy in real‐time underwater handwriting recognition for rapid information transmission.

A High‐Throughput Live Imaging Platform to Investigate Circuit‐Dependent Regulation of Circadian Rhythms in Brain Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biological rhythms coordinate physiology, from genes to behavior. Study of circadian rhythms in brain tissue is constrained by limited throughput and spatial and temporal information quality. A new platform for high‐throughput, long‐term multiplexed fluorescent live imaging of circadian rhythms in brain slices is introduced.

Symbol Detection of Ambient Backscatter Systems with Manchester Coding

open access: yes, 2018
Ambient backscatter communication is a newly emerged paradigm, which utilizes the ambient radio frequency (RF) signal as the carrier to reduce the system battery requirement, and is regarded as a promising solution for enabling large scale deployment of ...

Non-Coherent UWB Communications

open access: yesFrequenz, 2009
Early UWB concepts for communications have almost exclusively relied on impulse radio, where the whole available bandwidth, i.e., up to 7.5 GHz, is covered at once by means of very short pulses which are generated with a low duty cycle. Meanwhile, a bandwidth of 7.5 GHz is only available in the US [1, 3]. In Europe, the spectrum which is available with

Dipole‐Manipulated Built‐In Electric Field Enables Ultrafast Charge Separation in Perylene Diimide Polymers for Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular dipole engineering in dendritic perylene diimide polymers through nitrogen‐rich heterocyclic linkers amplifies the built‐in electric field, enabling sub‐picosecond charge separation and efficient multi‐electron accumulation. This structure–dynamics–performance relationship establishes a versatile design strategy for high‐performance organic ...

Resonant optical electron transfer in one-dimensional multiwell structures

open access: yes, 2008
We consider coherent single-electron dynamics in the one-dimensional nanostructure under resonant electromagnetic pulse. The structure is composed of two deep quantum wells positioned at the edges of structure and separated by a sequence of shallow ...

Non‐Uniform Space‐Time‐Coding Modulation for Low‐Complexity Diagnostics of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A diagnostic method for reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) based on non‐uniform space‐time‐coding modulation is presented. Fault localization is achieved via amplitude‐only spectral measurements, eliminating the need for complex signal processing. A one‐to‐one mapping between harmonic components and RIS elements enables accurate detection.
