Coherent Detection of DQPSK for Tolerance to Coherent Crosstalk
Coherent Optical Technologies and Applications, 2008Coherent crosstalk is a significant challenge in OCDM/A systems especially for high spectral efficiency coherent implementations. We study its impact on DQPSK with coherent detection. An improvement in performance is seen over direct detection.

Fast stereovision by coherence detection
1997A new approach to stereo vision based on similarities between optical flow estimation and disparity computation is introduced. The fully parallel algorithm utilizes fast filter operations and aliasing effects of simple disparity detectors within a coherence detection scheme.

Coherence requirement for partially coherent correlation detection
Applied Physics B Photophysics and Laser Chemistry, 1983The coherence requirement for correlation detection is determined using the theory of partially coherent light. It is shown that the requirement for temporal coherence strongly dependes on the spatial frequency and the spatial extension of the target (i.e., space bandwidth product).

Ring-coupled chaotic generator for coherent and non-coherent detection
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2013Abstract This paper deals with chaotic encryption and observer synthesis for coherent detection using a new ring-coupled map firstly introduced by Lozi. The specificity of the switched map under investigation is that it exhibits excellent properties for chaotic encryption, but has no standard solution for the observer design.

Radar detection in coherent Weibull clutter
IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1987In this correspondence, a new model for the Weibull clutter is presented. Then attention is turned to the design of the optimum radar processor to detect an a priori known target signal embedded in coherent Weibull clutter. An original detection scheme is presented and the corresponding performance is assessed.

Coherent Detection of Targets in Clutter.
1996The area of research dedicated to the design and optimisation of radar detection schemes is a constantly evolving held of study. This paper contributes to the held of parametric detection by utilising the Generalised Bessel Function K (GBK) distribution with parameter c = 2, (the Jakeman-Tough model), as a model for radar clutter in the design of an ...

Coherent MAP detection of DQPSK bits
IEEE Communications Letters, 2000Both IS-136 and PDC digital cellular systems employ forward error correction (FEC) encoding followed by a form of DQPSK modulation. In this letter, we derive the maximum a posteriori (MAP) bit detector for DQPSK modulation in non-ISI channels for a coherent receiver with one or more antennas.

Coherent, Self-Coherent, and Differential Detection Systems
2011In order to meet the ever-increasing demand in telecommunication capacity, fiberoptic communication systems have been evolving dramatically over the past decade [1, 2]. The fiberoptic communication traffic growth has been at a rate of about 2 dB per year, representing a traffic increase of a factor of 100 in 10 years [1, 2].

Algorithms for Coherent Detection
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2010□ Fiber optics is converging with other digital communications fields – cellular, satellite, digital subscriber line, etc. □ But techniques from existing fields are of limited help ▪ our carrier linewidth is much higher, 10-4 baud rate ▪ our impairments are of long duration, >100 symbols ▪ our data rate is much higher, 100Gb/s □ We must develop our own

Detection of Cyclostationarity Using Generalized Coherence
2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018A class of detectors for cyclostationarity is introduced. These detectors are based on the use of generalized coherence to measure correlation among two or more collections of random vectors. The generalized coherence framework allows any finite collection of pertinent samples of the cyclic auto-correlation function estimates formed from the measured ...
