Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Virtual versus Real Nuclear Compton Scattering in the Delta(1232) Region

open access: yes, 1996
In this paper we calculate the cross section for Virtual Compton Scattering off nuclei in the delta resonance region. We also calculate the background for the process from Coherent Bremsstrahlung in nuclei and explore the regions where the Virtual ...

Coherence vortices in Mie scattered nonparaxial partially coherent beams

open access: yesOptics Express, 2012
We have previously demonstrated that Mie scattering of partially coherent plane waves can create coherence vortices, namely screw-type dislocations in the phase of the spectral degree of coherence. However, plane waves are an idealization and in practice, optical beams are often much closer to reality.

Structure–Transport–Ion Retention Coupling for Enhanced Nonvolatile Artificial Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitrogen incorporation into the conjugated backbone of donor–acceptor polymers enables efficient charge transfer and deep ion embedding in organic electrochemical synaptic transistors (OESTs). This molecular‐level design enhances non‐volatile synaptic properties, providing a new strategy for developing high‐performance and reliable neuromorphic devices.

Method of functional integration in the problem of line width of parametric X-ray relativistic electron radiation in a crystal

open access: yes, 2003
The coherent and non-coherent scattering effects on "backward" parametric X-ray radiation by relativistic electrons in a crystal on the basis of the method of functional integration is investigated.

Geometry‐Dependent Adhesion in Transparent Monodomain Liquid Crystal Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid Crystal Elastomers (LCEs) are emerging as exciting pressure‐sensitive adhesives. We examine adhesion in chemically identical elastomer films, exploring the influence of geometry (director orientation) and phase (nematic or isotropic). We demonstrate the potential of these aligned films as transparent, tunable, broad‐temperature‐range smart ...

Ceramic Particle‐Reinforced Medium‐Entropy Alloys With Outstanding Mechanical Properties Prepared by Novel Micro‐LPBF

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative medium entropy alloy (MEA) composite material was fabricated via micro laser powder bed fusion (μ‐LPBF) with appropriate nano‐ceramic particles doping and exhibited markedly improved overall performance, including synergistically enhanced strength and ductility, increased hardness and compressive strength, improved wear resistance and ...

A STUDY OF GAMMA RAY EXPOSURE BUILDUP FACTORS IN STRATIFIED SHIELDS FOR POINT ISOTROPIC SOURCES, INCLUDING THE EFFECTS OF INCOHERENT AND COHERENT SCATTERING [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2002
The effects of including incoherent (bound-electron) and coherent (Rayleigh) scattering in exposure buildup factor calculations for point isotropic gamma ray sources, penetrating a two-layer water-lead shield have been investigated in the gamma ray ...
