Spatial coherence in strongly scattering media
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2005We study the spatial coherence of an optical beam in a strongly scattering medium confined in a slab geometry. Using the radiative transfer equation, we study numerically the behavior of the transverse spatial coherence length in the different transport regimes. Transitions from the ballistic to the diffusive regimes are clearly identified.

Temperature measurements by coherent Rayleigh scattering
Optics Letters, 2002We demonstrate, for the first time to our knowledge, the utility of coherent Rayleigh scattering (CRS) for temperature measurements in low-density gases and weakly ionized plasmas by measuring the translational temperature of neutral argon in a glow discharge.

Optical coherence microscopy in scattering media
Optics Letters, 1994We describe a novel technique, based on optical coherence tomography, for enhanced optical sectioning in confocal microscopy. Confocal imaging deep into highly scattering media is demonstrated and compared with the predictions of a single-backscatter theory.
