Coherent Upper and Lower Conditional Previsions Defined by Hausdorff Outer and Inner Measures

2011
A new model of coherent upper conditional previsions is proposed to represent uncertainty and to make previsions in complex systems. It is defined by the Choquet integral with respect to Hausdorff outer measure if the conditioning event has positive and finite Hausdorff outer measure in its Hausdorff dimension.

Representation of Indifference and Preference Ordering Between Random Variables by Coherent Upper and Lower Conditional Previsions Defined by Hausdorff Outer and Inner Measures.

open access: yes, 2020
Coherent lower and upper conditional previsions defined by Hausdorff inner and outer measures are proposed to represent respectively a partial strict order and a complete indifference relations between random variables. The two binary relations can describe the activity of the conscious human thought ruled by the antisymmetric property and the ...

2-Coherent and 2-convex conditional lower previsions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2016
In this paper we explore relaxations of (Williams) coherent and convex conditional previsions that form the families of n-coherent and n-convex conditional previsions, at the varying of n. We investigate which such previsions are the most general one may

A survey of the theory of coherent lower previsions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2008
This paper presents a summary of Peter Walley’s theory of coherent lower previsions. We introduce three representations of coherent assessments: coherent lower and upper previsions, closed and convex sets of linear previsions, and sets of desirable ...

Marginal extension in the theory of coherent lower previsions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2007
We generalise Walley’s Marginal Extension Theorem to the case of any finite number of conditional lower previsions. Unlike the procedure of natural extension, our marginal extension always provides the smallest (most conservative) coherent extensions. We

Notes on conditional previsions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Approximate Reasoning, 2007
The personalist conception of probability is often explicated in terms of betting rates acceptable to an individual. A common approach, that of de Finetti for example, assumes that the individual is willing to take either side of the bet, so that the bet

Bhatia-Davis inequalities for lower and upper previsions and covariances [PDF]

open access: yesFuzzy Sets and Systems
We explore how the classical Bhatia-Davis inequality bounding variances can be extended to uncertainty evaluations of gambles (bounded random numbers) by means of imprecise (lower or upper) previsions with different degrees of consistency.

Integral representation of coherent upper conditional prevision with respect to its associated Hausdorff outer measure: a comparison among the Choquet integral, the pan-integral and the concave integral

International Journal of General Systems, 2018
In this paper, it is proven that the natural extensions of a submodular coherent upper conditional probability, defined a class S properly contained in the power set of Ω, coincide on the class of all bounded and upper S-measurable random variables. Moreover, it is proven that a coherent upper conditional prevision can be represented as the Choquet ...

Symmetric coherent upper conditional prevision defined by the Choquet integral with respect to Hausdorff outer measure

Annals of Operations Research, 2014
The author studies symmetric fuzzy measures on the power set of a set. She proves that the following are symmetric:{\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[(1)] coherent upper conditional probabilities defined by Hausdorff outer measures, \item [(2)] distorted coherent upper conditional probabilities defined by Hausdorff outer measures with concave ...
