Understanding the Role of Borohydride Doping in Electrochemical Stability of Argyrodite Li6PS5Cl Solid‐State Electrolyte

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study reveals how LiBH4 doping in argyrodite‐type Li6PS5Cl solid‐state electrolyte improves electrochemical stability by forming a tri‐layer SEI based predominately on Li3P/LiBH4/Li2S that promotes ion transport and blocks electrons. In situ XPS and TOF‐SIMS show thinner SEI, enhanced Li electrodeposition, and better interfacial wetting compared ...

Long‐Range Spin Transport in Chiral Gold

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that in chiral gold film, spin information can be transferred to distances of several microns at room temperature. The conduction of spins is accompanied by the Hall effect that exists without applying an external magnetic field. The spin diffusion length is consistent with the frequency‐dependent Hall effect which indicates spin ...

Anchoring Unimolecular Metal Chloride as a Sterically Active Site for Conformal Zinc Electrodeposition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An octahedrally coordinated MnCl2N4 structure anchored on hard carbon tailors the electronic environment of single atoms to lower zinc nucleation barriers. Chloride‐assisted Zn adsorption with Jahn‐Teller distortion and residual Zn enables reduced overpotential.

Sub‐1000 °C Sintering of Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells via Microwave‐Driven Vapor Phase Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A transformative microwave‐driven vapor‐phase sintering strategy enables densification of proton‐conducting electrolytes at 980 °C, reducing the sintering temperature by over 500 °C and addressing a major bottleneck toward PCEC manufacturing. Abstract Protonic ceramic electrochemical cells (PCECs) hold significant promise for efficient power generation
