Improvement in Soil Subgrade Using Natural Fibre (Kenaf and Coir Fibre)
2021India has one of the largest road networks in the world. Around 20% land area of India is covered with soils having low California bearing ratio (CBR) and shear strength values. Pavements laid over such type of soil lead to continuous deformation as a result of which cracks are developed. It increases the maintenance cost and disrupts traffic services.

Cyclic response of coir fibre-reinforced sand
Innovative Infrastructure Solutions, 2018The reinforcement technique is a better choice to the conventional ground improvement technique under appropriate conditions to enhance the bearing capacity of soil. The behaviour of reinforced earth was studied by considering generally static loads.

Investigations on coir fibre inhomogeneity and property variations for biocomposite applications
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part L: Journal of Materials: Design and ApplicationsAgricultural waste-based lignocellulosic natural fillers and fibres are alternatives to synthetic fibres for developing sustainable composite products. The heterogeneity in the structure of the natural fibre affects its properties.

Performance evaluation of cement concrete incorporating cellulose coir fibre and nano-silica
Journal of the Croatian Association of Civil EngineersThis paper employs experiments to examine the effects of cellulose coir fibre (CCF) and nano-silica (NS) on the fresh, mechanical, and durability properties of C20/25 grade cement concrete.

Weibull analysis of strengths of coir fibres
Fibre Science and Technology, 1983Abstract The large scatter observed in the fracture strengths of coir fibres ranging in length from 0·001 m to 0·065 m and in diameter from 0·15 × 10−3 m to 0·35 × 10−3 m, is analysed statistically using a two-parameter Weibull treatment. It was found that the strength distribution at any length (and for any diameter of fibre) can be represented ...

Radial distribution function analysis of coir fibre
Journal of Materials Science, 1993Radial distribution analysis of X-ray intensities diffracted by natural coir fibre subjected to various thermal and mercerization treatments has been carried out. Interatomic distances, mean square displacements and interatomic coupling constants have been obtained from the radial distribution curves. As coir fibre finds its various applications in its
