The support of top graded local cohomology modules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Let $R_0$ be any domain, let $R=R_0[U_1, ..., U_s]/I$, where $U_1, ..., U_s$ are indeterminates of some positive degrees, and $I\subset R_0[U_1, ..., U_s]$ is a homogeneous ideal. The main theorem in this paper is states that all the associated primes of

Automatic parameter update algorithm for regression models to estimate remaining useful life: Application in an offshore natural gas dehydration unit

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Remaining useful life (RUL) analysis of equipment prevents failures and assists in maintenance to address impending failures. To achieve this, the advancement of degradation can be measured through a determinant variable. This work presents a new methodology for estimating the number of remaining cycles (NRC), or RUL, of equipment in cyclic ...

The C*-algebra of an affine map on the 3-torus

open access: yes, 2012
We study the C*-algebra of an affine map on a compact abelian group and give necessary and sufficient conditions for strong transitivity when the group is a torus.

Molten‐Salt‐Mediated Chemical Looping Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane with In‐Situ Carbon Capture and Utilization

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
A sustainable alternative to steam cracking, the molten‐salt‐mediated oxidative dehydrogenation (MM‐ODH) of ethane (C2H6) in Li2CO3‐Na2CO3‐K2CO3 (LNK) couples thermal cracking with melt‐mediated CO2 capture to realize commercially competitive C2H4 and CO yields. LNK composition strongly influences MM‐ODH process outcomes.

Status and Outlook of Solid Oxide Cells for Hydrocarbon Fuel Conversion

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
The solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) system, driven by renewable energy, enables efficient high‐temperature electrochemical reduction of CO2 into hydrocarbon fuels, simultaneously storing clean electricity in chemical form. This approach supports circular utilization of carbon resources and offers a sustainable and technically viable pathway toward

Insights Into the Light‐Driven Conversion of Methane: Mechanisms, Characterization, and Perspective

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Methane can be converted into value‐added products, offering a sustainable and economically viable approach to energy and carbon use. Photocatalytic methane conversion under mild conditions is an effective method for activating methane. This review outlines key mechanisms for C–H bond activation, categorizes products from methane conversion, and ...

Smith Ideals of Operadic Algebras in Monoidal Model Categories

open access: yes, 2017
Building upon Hovey's work on Smith ideals for monoids, we develop a homotopy theory of Smith ideals for general operads in a symmetric monoidal category.
