Leukocyte profiles reveal sex and age differences in immune investment in a polygynous bat
Journal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 8, Page 1453-1463, August 2026.Analysis of over 500 blood cell profiles, including repeat samples over four years, reveals that male bats from a long‐lived species with a polygynous mating system invest more in innate than adaptive immunity. Investment in innate immunity increases with age, as estimated by a DNA methylation clock and mark‐recapture data.

Temperature Series for 19 Caves Across the Western Italian Alps

Designed for reuse, the data enable future studies on cave microclimates, thermal buffering, and climate sensitivity in subterranean ecosystems.
