Effects of Cannabidiol on TAFAZZIN‐Deficient B‐Lymphoblastoid Cells

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 6, 31 March 2026.
Deficiency of the cardiolipin remodeling enzyme TAFAZZIN causes Barth syndrome (BTHS), resulting in cardiolipin loss, monolysocardiolipin (MLCL) accumulation, and electron transport chain (ETC) abnormalities in B‐lymphoblastoid cells. Effects of the non‐psychotropic phytocannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD) were examined on B‐lymphoblastoid cells from ...

Ultra‐Low‐Cost Hydrophobic Organic Coating for Highly Reversible Zinc Anodes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 11, 9 March 2026.
A nanoscale hydrophobic 1,3‐Di(o‐tolyl)thiourea (DTH) layer (<14 nm) was deposited on zinc anodes for durable aqueous Zn‐ion batteries, costing merely 1.43×10−7 USD·Ah−1. By suppressing side reactions and dendrites, it achieved 2500‐cycle coin cells and a 143 Wh·kg−1 pouch cell (1200 cycles) with a record‐low additive cost (7.02×10−7 USD).

Impacts of A‐Site Composition on the Cation Dissolution‐Mediated Surface Restructuring of Layered Nickelate Oxide Electrocatalysts During Alkaline Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 6, 17 March 2026.
This work shows that A‐site composition dictates the restructuring of Ruddlesden–Popper nickelate oxides (A2‐xA’xNiO4; A = La, Eu, Gd; A’ = Sr; x = 0–1.5) under alkaline oxygen evolution reaction conditions and suggests that electrocatalytic stability is governed by an interplay between dissolution‐mediated site exposure and Ni oxidation state ...

Highly Textured Zinc Deposition: A Pathway to Long‐Life Rechargeable Aqueous Batteries

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
This perspective summarizes emerging strategies for oriented Zn deposition to suppress dendrites for high‐performance rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries and points out future research directions. Rechargeable aqueous Zn batteries (RAZBs) offer compelling advantages for large‐scale energy storage, including intrinsic safety, low cost, and environmental ...

CO2 Reduction on Copper‐Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Catalysts Tuned by Pulsed Potential Electrolysis: Effect of Pulse Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 21, 12 March 2026.
This study demonstrates that pulsed potential electrolysis significantly improves CO2 reduction performance on copper‐nitrogen doped carbon electrodes. The formation of cationic copper sites and metallic clusters as a function of applied intermittent potential leads to notable selectivity changes compared to potentiostatic reduction.
