Jet energy-energy correlator in cold QCD matter [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
We present a study of medium-induced modifications to the energy-energy correlator (EEC) for jets in cold nuclear matter. For electron-nucleus collisions, at leading order in the QCD coupling and in the jet-medium interaction, we derive an analytic ...

Isolating final state effects in high pT π0 production using direct photons in small system collisions with PHENIX [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
PHENIX observed a 20% suppression in the production of high pT neutral pions in the most central (0-5%) d+Au collisions at 200 GeV. Through the simultaneous measurement of high pT direct photons (γdir) and π0 production for event samples selected by ...

Quarkonium Suppression from Coherent Energy Loss in Fixed-Target Experiments Using LHC Beams

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2015
Quarkonium production in proton-nucleus collisions is a powerful tool to disentangle cold nuclear matter effects. A model based on coherent energy loss is able to explain the available quarkonium suppression data in a broad range of rapidities, from ...

Nuclear modification of prompt and non-prompt J/Ψ production in p-Pb collisions at √SNN = 5.02 TeV with ALICE

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Various Cold Nuclear Matter (CNM) effects, such as nuclear shadowing or partonic energy loss, can modify the production of J/Ψ in heavy-ion collisions with respect to what is measured in elementary colliding systems.

Observation of Z production in proton-lead collisions at LHCb [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The first observation of Z boson production in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per proton-nucleon pair of √sNN = 5 TeV is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 1.6 nb−1 collected with the LHCb detector ...

Realisation of a cold mixture of rubidium and caesium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis describes a new apparatus designed to study cold, ultracold, and quantum degenerate mixtures of rubidium and caesium atoms. The Rb- Cs mixture is prepared using a double magneto-optical trap (MOT) system in which a two-species pyramid MOT ...

Optical Collisions of Cold, Metastable Helium Atoms [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1998
We have studied the optical collisions of cold, metastable helium atoms in a magneto-optical trap. We have detected the rate of Penning and associative ionization of two metastable helium atoms at a temperature of 1 mK with and without nearly resonant light. We find that the associative ionization rate is increased with more than a factor 20 due to the

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Interactions and collisions of cold molecules: lithium + lithium dimer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
There is at present great interest in the properties of ultracold molecules. Molecules are created in traps in excited rovibrational states and any vibrational relaxation results in the trap loss.

Collisions between cold ground-state Na atoms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
We study hyperfine transitions in collisions between cold ground-state 23Na atoms, which are of crucial importance for the decay of the atomic density in magnetic traps.
