Advances in Magnesium‐Based Thermoelectrics: A Critical Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnesium‐based thermoelectric materials have emerged as promising candidates for low‐to‐mid‐temperature energy conversion due to their abundance, low cost, and competitive performance. This review summarizes recent advances in Mg3X2, MgAgSb, and Mg2X systems, covering transport mechanisms, fabrication strategies, stability challenges, and device ...

Charmonium production in pPb and PbPb collisions at 5.02 TeV with CMS

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Charmonium states, such as the J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons, are excellent probes of the deconfined state of matter, the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) created in heavy ion collisions.

ChicGrasp: Imitation‐Learning‐Based Customized Dual‐Jaw Gripper Control for Manipulation of Delicate, Irregular Bio‐Products

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Overview of recent ALICE results

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
ALICE is the LHC experiment devoted to the study of heavy-ion collisions. While results from Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV provide insight on the properties of the plasma of quarks and gluons, formed in nucleus-nucleus interactions, the study of p ...

Electronic spectroscopy of cold ions in a radio-frequency trap [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The low density of ions in mass spectrometers generally precludes direct absorption measurements. The spectrum of ions can nonetheless be obtained by using resonance two-color photofragmentation or multiphoton photofragmentation techniques.

DMAP1 Deficiency Suppresses Lung Cancer Progression by Destabilizing Replication Fork and Activating IFN Signaling‐Mediated Anti‐tumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer‐related death. We investigated the role of the epigenetic regulator DMAP1 in NSCLC and found that its loss induces replication stress and DNA damage. This in turn activates type I IFN signaling via the cGAS–STING pathway and transcriptional ISG de‐repression, enhancing anti‐tumor immune responses ...

Dence Cold Matter

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Possible way to create dense cold baryonic matter in the laboratory is discussed. The density of this matter is comparable or even larger than the density of neutron star core.

Characterising Charm Jet Properties with Azimuthal Correlations of D Mesons and Charged Particles with ALICE at the LHC

open access: yesProceedings, 2019
Charm quarks are produced via hard parton scattering in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions, hence are ideal probes to study a possible de-confined state of matter, known as Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP).

Many body effects in one-dimensional attractive Bose gases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this thesis we investigate the properties of ultra-cold quantum gases in reduced dimension and the effects of harmonic confinement on soliton-like properties.

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.
