Cannabigerol reverses mechanical allodynia through α2A‐adrenergic modulation of thalamocortical signaling in chemotherapy‐induced neuropathy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Chemotherapy‐induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a prevalent and treatment‐resistant side effect of platinum‐based chemotherapy, characterised by mechanical allodynia. Cannabigerol (CBG), a non‐psychoactive cannabinoid, has shown antinociceptive potential, but its site and mechanism of action remain unclear.

A Comparison of Clinical Efficacy of Dentifrices Containing Calcium Sodium Phosphosilicate, Nanoparticle Hydroxyapatite and a Dentifrice Containing Casein Phosphopeptide Amorphous Calcium Phosphate on Dentinal Hypersensitivity- A Comparative Triple Blind Randomized Study

open access: yesAdvances in Human Biology, 2014
Aim : A considerable number of agents are effective in the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity. This3 month randomized clinical trial compares a dentifrice containing Calcium Sodium Phosphosilicate, Nanoparticle Hydroxyapatite and Casein Phosphopeptide ...

Protectin D1 and maresin 1 attenuate airway hyperreactivity induced by IL‐13 in human isolated small bronchi

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Interleukin (IL)‐13 is implicated in airway hyperreactivity (AHR), a key feature of asthma. We explored the potential anti‐AHR activity of selected specialised pro‐resolving mediators (SPMs) in IL‐13‐induced AHR models, using human bronchial smooth muscle cells (BSMCs) and human isolated bronchi.

Comparison of desensitizing efficacy of an Iranian dentifrice and a commercially available dentifrice: a randomized double-blinded controlled clinical trial.

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2013
The aim of this randomized controlled clinical trial was to investigate the effect of a new Iranian toothpaste and a commercially available toothpaste containing desensitizing agent (5% potassium nitrate) on dentine hypersensitivity in a 24-week study ...

Dental Hypersensitivity as a Consequence of the Initial Course of Periodontal Treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003

Epigenetic mechanisms and therapeutic innovations in chronic pain‐associated neuropsychiatric co‐morbidities

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic pain, marked by nociceptive sensitization and maladaptive neuroplasticity, affects 30% of the global population with escalating socioeconomic burdens. Epidemiological data show a 2‐3‐fold increase in neuropsychiatric co‐morbidities among individuals with chronic pain, where epigenetic dysregulation serves as a key mechanism linking ...

LPC18:0 Secreted by Exogenous Neural Stem Cells Potentiates Neurogenesis and Functional Recovery via GPR55‐Mediated Signalling in Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
LPC18:0 secreted by exogenous neural stem cells potentiates neurogenesis via the GPR55/AKT/GSK3β signalling axis, which ultimately promotes spinal cord injury recovery. ABSTRACT Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating condition with limited therapeutic options. Although neural stem cell (NSC) transplantation shows regenerative potential, its efficacy

Mispositioned Neurokinin-1 Receptor-Expressing Neurons Underlie Heat Hyperalgesia in Disabled-1 Mutant Mice. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Reelin (Reln) and Disabled-1 (Dab1) participate in the Reln-signaling pathway and when either is deleted, mutant mice have the same spinally mediated behavioral abnormalities, increased sensitivity to noxious heat and a profound loss in mechanical ...

Targeting inflammation in cardiometabolic disease: Icosapent ethyl modulates monocyte‐derived macrophages isolated from patients with cardiovascular disease with or without type 2 diabetes

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Despite intensive lipid‐lowering therapy, individuals with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) exhibit residual inflammatory risk, which drives recurrent cardiovascular events. This risk is amplified in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), where a pro‐inflammatory milieu accelerates atherogenesis. Monocyte‐derived macrophages (MDMs)
