Cold Ironing Yöntemi; Marport Limanı Uygulaması [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Eta Maritime Science, 2014

Environmental and health consequences of shore power for vessels calling at major ports in India

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2021
To reduce local air pollution, many ports in developed countries require berthed ships to use shore-based electricity instead of burning diesel to meet their electricity requirement for loads such as lights, cargo-handling equipment, and air conditioning.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

A Comprehensive Study of Cold Ironing under FuelEU and EU ETS Regulations: Environmental and Economic Impacts Across Vessel Types

open access: yesJournal of Eta Maritime Science
The maritime sector faces increasing regulatory and societal pressure to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, particularly under the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the FuelEU Maritime regulation.

Local energy production scenarios for emissions reduction of pollutants in small-medium ports

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2022
Environmental impact produced by ships in ports is a relevant problem, especially when they are located close to urban areas. This paper, taking Ancona (Italy) as a case study, analyzes the CO2 (and other chemical species) emissions produced by the ...

Identification of the plant mitochondrial OrfX protein: A mass spectrometry approach

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mitochondrial genome of plants contains an open reading frame, orfx, which encodes a rare protein that has so far escaped mass spectrometric detection. The protein resembles the c‐subunit of bacterial twin‐arginine‐motif‐dependent protein translocases (TatC).

Techno-Economic and Environmental Assessment of an ORC-Based Waste Heat Recovery and Cold Ironing System for an Offshore Platform Supply Vessel

open access: yesJournal of Eta Maritime Science
The maritime industry is under increasing pressure to comply with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Investigating Critical Parameters of Maritime Electricity Market

open access: yesEnergies
This paper discusses the economic factors that affect and, hence, must be investigated for the subsequent stage of onshore power supply (OPS) (or cold ironing) applications. In order to be considered a viable alternative to the conventional but pollutant

Circular and square cups drawing and ironing of Ti alloy sheets by incremental press forming method [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
The low ductility of Ti–6Al–4V alloy at forming temperatures below 780°C is still a problem. Ti–6Al–IV alloy is usually hot press formed at 780 to 900°C.
