Recycling of cold-stable microtubules: evidence that cold stability is due to substoichiometric polymer blocks

Biochemistry, 1982
A substantial subpopulation of mammalian brain crude extract microtubules is resistant to cold-temperature disassembly. We propose here that microtubules are rendered cold stable by rare substoichiometric blocks. Mild shearing of rat brain cold-stable microtubules makes them largely cold labile. In addition, cold-stable microtubules can be destabilized

Constructability Test for Cold In-Place Asphalt Recycling

Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, 1999
Unstable subgrades are a major constructibility problem for cold in-place asphalt recycling. The recycling operation is often performed by a train of equipment that mills, screens, crushes, and mixes the recycled material. This train is supported by the remaining pavement after the top has been milled off for recycling.

Rehabilitation of an Italian highway by Cold In-Place Recycling techniques

2009
In Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR), emulsion and foamed bitumen have currently used as the most common binders. However, there is a need to better understand the mechanical performance of these stabilized mixtures. This paper shows the results obtained from two trial sections in order to optimize the rehabilitation process of an Italian highway through ...

A Review of Researches on Cement Cold-Recycled Base

2011 International Conference on Computer Distributed Control and Intelligent Environmental Monitoring, 2011
This review presents the recent advances in cold recycled waste pavement materials with cement. The various factors of influence on pavement performances is introduced, including cement content, gradation, reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), optimum moisture content(OMC), compaction density and curing conditions.

Gradation and Performance Research of Cold Recycled Mixture

Road Pavement and Material Characterization, Modeling, and Maintenance, 2011
Cold in-place recycling was adopted for a project in China due to the availability of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP). Based on the Foshan loop project in Guangdong, the gradation design of cold recycled mixtures (CRM) was optimized by the Bailey Method. Emulsified asphalt and cement were used as additives.

Cold Recycling with Bitumen Emulsion of Marginal Aggregates for Road Pavements

2019
The paper deals with a laboratory study of bitumen emulsion bound mixtures for road pavements with an aggregate structure totally composed of waste materials, i.e. reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), steel slag, coal ash and glass wastes, combined in different ratios. The investigation was divided into a preliminary environmental and physical analysis of

Analysis for Cascade Recycling of LNG Cold Energy

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Considerable cold energy embodied in liquefied natural gas (LNG) can be recycled in LNG regasification, which can not only save energy but also avoid cold pollution within the low-temperature fluid emission. Review on both domestic and overseas is conducted on the recycling of LNG cold energy in different applications.

Cold In-Place Recycling on US-283 in Kansas

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2000
In 1997 an experimental partial-depth cold in-place recycling project was performed on US-283 in Kansas. Two sections approximately equal in length, one with Class C fly ash and the other with an emulsion with lime slurry, were recycled. On both sections a hot-mix asphalt overlay was placed after curing.
