Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Dormancy breaking and seed germination of the annual weeds Thlaspi arvense, Descurainia sophia and Malcolmia africana (Brassicaceae)

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection Research, 2014
In Iran, Descurainia sophia, Malcolmia africana, and Thlaspi arvense are abundantly found as importunate weeds in winter cereal. Understanding the timing of seed germination under natural conditions is crucial for learning how to manage these annual ...

Data_Sheet_1_Unraveling the Effects of Cold Stratification and Temperature on the Seed Germination of Invasive Spartina alterniflora Across Latitude.docx

open access: yes, 2022
Seed germination is critical to the life history of plants, playing an important role in the successful recruitment, colonization, and even invasion of new individuals within and outside population distribution ranges. Cold stratification and temperature

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Soaking in Cold Water Replaces the Stratification Requirement of True Cedar Seeds [PDF]

open access: yesHortScience, 1999
There is an increasing demand from growers for seeds to be of the highest vigor possible, with the ability to emerge rapidly, uniformly, and to a high level. Seed priming (soaking in salt, osmoticum, or water solutions) can accelerate germination and seedling establishment.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

INFLUENCE OF OVERCOMING DORMANCY METHODS ON MAGNOLIA X SOULANGEANA SOUL. BOD. SEEDS GERMINATION

open access: yesAgricultura, 2010
The goal of the experiments carried out was to analyse the influence of different types of preseeding treatment on the germination and dormancy breaking of Magnolia x soulangeana seeds. Seven types of preseeding treatment were used to break seed dormancy

The Effect of Different Stratification Media and Temperature Applications on Seed Germination and Seedling Growing in Rosehip (Rosa canina L.)

open access: yesYüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tarim Bilimleri Dergisi, 2021
In this study, the effects of different stratification media (sand, peat, vermiculite and vermicompost) and different temperature degrees (warm + cold) on the germination rate and seedling growth of rosehip seeds were investigated. This study was carried

Numerical Simulation of Thermal Stratification in Cold Legs by Using OpenFOAM

open access: yesProgress in Nuclear Science and Technology, 2011
*,† During a small-break loss-of-coolant accident in pressurized water reactors (PWRs), emergency core cooling system (ECCS) is actuated and cold water is injected into cold legs. Insufficient mixing of injected cold water and hot primary coolant results in thermal stratification, which is a matter of concern for evaluation of pressurized thermal shock
