Activation of the NF‐ĸB Signaling Pathway by Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei Through Modulation of TLR4 and DC‐SIGN Genes in an Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Rat Model

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The composition of the oral and intestinal microbiota is believed to contribute to the development of oral cancer (OC). The chronic activation of pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) has been linked to the aggressive nature and poor prognosis of various cancers.

Secoisolariciresinol Diglucoside Alleviates LPS‐Induced Acute Lung Injury by Inhibiting the NF‐κB/NLRP3 Signaling Pathway

open access: yesDrug Development Research, Volume 87, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Acute lung injury (ALI) and its more severe form, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), are life‐threatening pulmonary disorders with high mortality rates, and effective treatments are currently lacking. Secoisolariciresinol diglucoside (SDG), a plant lignan derived from flaxseed, possesses anti‐inflammatory and antioxidative activities.

A Novel PTPN2 Isoform Differentially Regulates Immune Response

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 5, May 2026.
The A allele of the intronic SNP rs80262450 in the PTPN2 gene favors the expression of the splicing isoform PTPN2.4. This cytoplasmic isoform enhances TNF‐α production in myeloid cells, thereby contributing to intestinal inflammation. These findings identify PTPN2.4 as a key pathogenic regulator and potential therapeutic target for inflammatory bowel ...
