Designing collaborative agents with eXAT

13th IEEE International Workshops on Enabling Technologies: Infrastructure for Collaborative Enterprises, 2005
This paper describes eXAT, an experimental agent-programming platform, based on the Erlang language, designed by the authors. The platform provides an "all-in-one" framework for the design, with a single tool, of agent intelligence, agent behaviour and agent communication.

Design Games Reinstalling the Designer in Collaborative design

Proceedings of DRS, 2006
In this paper design games are discussed as an approach to managing design sessions. The focus is on the collaborative design session and more particular on how to set up the collaboration and reinsure progress. Design games have the advantage of framing the collaborative assignment at hand.

Designing Collaboration Processes and Systems

Proceedings of the 38th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2004
Research shows that, under certain circumstances, groups using collaboration technologies can be far more productive than groups using other means to accomplish their tasks. Furthermore, collaboration appears to be a success critical skill in the new dynamic and innovative knowledge economy.

Broadening Our Collaboration with Design

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 2006
Computer graphics researchers have been collaborating successfully with engineers, architects, and artists for decades, focusing on better tools for model and image creation. Graphics researchers have already developed a wide range of procedural (automatic) modeling techniques, but with few exceptions, these focus on modeling natural objects, such as ...

Designing for Collaborative Discovery Learning

2000
In this paper a general design is introduced for collaborative discovery learning. Starting from the properties of learning processes involved in discovery learning, an analysis is made how they can be supported by collaboration, and how new types of instructional support can be created from the interaction between collaborative support measures and ...
