Computing Collapse Pressure for Coiled Tubing
SPE Gulf Coast Section/ICoTA North American Coiled Tubing Roundtable, 1996Abstract Other published literature discusses collapse pressure (CP) for round tubing,1 and proposes one collapse pressure (CP) expression for any OD-to-wall (D/t) ratio. This expression is easily solved and can be used with all units: US, metric, etc. CP for oval tubing was a subject of another paper.2 This paper presents

Pressure-Flow Relationships in Collapsible Tubes
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1969The pressure-flow characteristic of a short collapsible tube held open at its ends and inserted between two constrictions was investigated as a function of flow for different external pressures and downstream constrictions. Taking the upstream and downstream pressure and the flow through the tube as coordinates, a surface can be determined from which ...

Collapse pressures for rhombic plates
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2000In earlier works of the author upper bound estimates for the collapse of clamped or simply-supported regular polygonal plates under uniform pressure had been derived for rigid-plastic materials that satisfy the square Johansen yield criterion. The present paper adopts a similar technique and desribes the collapse mechanism more precisely, in particular

Pressure-Flow Characteristics of Collapsible Tubes
Advances in Bioengineering, 1994Abstract An experimental investigation has been made on the pressure-flow behaviour of collapsible tubes, particularly the effects due to upstream pressure and downstream reservoir-head. These and other experimental parameters were systematically varied to determined the pressure-drop versus flow characteristics.

Pressure/flow relationships in collapsible tubes: effects of upstream pressure fluctuations
Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1991An experimental investigation has been made on the pressure/flow behaviour of a collapsible tube. Of particular interest are the effects of upstream pressure fluctuations on the mean pressure/flow relationships. These mean pressure/flow relationships were found to exhibit features generally similar to the steady-flow situation, including flow ...

Experimental Investigation of Cavity Collapse Pressures
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1959Single, hemispherical spark cavities were created in water at the pressure end of a Duralumin pressure bar. At the collapse of such a cavity, a transient stress pulse (∼20 μsec duration) is propagated along the bar which is detected by an X-cut circular disk of quartz of the same diameter as the pressure bar.

Pressure-induced homothetic volume collapse in silicon clathrates
Europhysics Letters (EPL), 2005The high-pressure properties of the Ba-doped silicon clathrate Ba8Si46 have been investigated combining X-ray diffraction and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. A pressure-induced isostructural phase transition associated with an important volume collapse takes place at 11.5–14 GPa.

Collapsing Cristobalitelike Structures in Silica Analogues at High Pressure
Physical Review Letters, 2003The cristobalitelike forms of the ternary silica analogues BPO4 and BAsO4 were investigated at high pressure by x-ray diffraction and theoretical methods. The behavior of these compounds represents an extreme case in which the tilt angle of the constituent tetrahedra increases in a spectacular way at high pressure resulting in a major change in ...
