Do Commodity Prices and Energy Markets Drive Asymmetric Volatility in Biodiversity Finance?

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines symmetric and asymmetric volatility spillovers among biodiversity finance, commodity prices, and energy markets using daily data from 2019 to 2025. We apply the Diebold–Yilmaz time–domain connectedness model, Baruník–Křehlík frequency–domain decomposition, and an asymmetric spillover framework.

Collapsible soils in the Czech Republic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The present thesis deals with potentially collapsible soils in the Czech Republic. Collapsibility is one of the dangerous phenomena of soils and in some cases it causes extreme deformation of structures.

The Axial Uplift Capacity of Screw Piles: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Engineering
There is a continuous demand in geotechnical engineering to find more economical footing. Screw piles provide acceptable or even much more bearing against tensile, compression, lateral, and overturning moment loads with less impact on the environment ...

The Fading Premium: Environmental and Financial Performance Across Nordic Industries

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The relationship between environmental and financial performance remains one of the most studied and least settled questions in business research. Using a panel of 741 Nordic listed firms from 2018 to 2025, we study how industry, time, firm resources, and the substance of engagement condition it. Industry determines where a relationship exists

Ensemble‐based soil liquefaction assessment: Leveraging CPT data for enhanced predictions

open access: yesCivil Engineering Design, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 23-35, March 2025.
Abstract This study focuses on predicting soil liquefaction, a critical phenomenon that can significantly impact the stability and safety of structures during seismic events. Accurate liquefaction assessment is vital for geotechnical engineering, as it informs the design and mitigation strategies needed to safeguard infrastructure and reduce the risk ...

Comparative efficacy of grouting and mixing methods for stabilizing collapsible soils with nano-clay and cement

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
Collapsible soils, characterized by sudden settlement upon wetting, pose significant geotechnical challenges for infrastructure foundations. While conventional stabilization methods exist, their effectiveness is often limited by non-uniform treatment or ...

Towards a Biodiversity Positive Business Strategy: The MCRV (Monitoring, Conserving, Restoring, Valorizing) Framework

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite mounting regulatory pressure and growing scientific consensus on biodiversity loss, most corporate action remains reactive, fragmented, and strategically peripheral. Existing frameworks address what firms should report rather than how they can build the organizational capabilities required to act strategically.

EG-14 Collapsible soils in Colorado

open access: yes, 2008
Collapsible Soils in Colorado describes the geologic setting, the geomorphic and soil conditions, locations of potential susceptibility, and engineering properties of collapsible soils in Colorado. This bulletin is the result of a comprehensive and multi-

Estimation of Relative Subsidence of Collapsible Soils Using Electromagnetic Measurements

open access: yes, 2017
Collapsible soils are weak soils that appear to be stable in their natural state, normally dry condition, but rapidly deform under saturation (wetting), thus generating large and unexpected settlements which often yield disastrous consequences for ...

Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.
