Feasibility of using electrokinetics and nanomaterials to stabilize and improve collapsible soils
Loess as a subcategory of collapsible soils is a well-known aeolian deposit generally characterized as a highly-porous medium with relatively low natural density and water content and a high percentage of fine-grained particles.

Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...

Study of the microstructure of a collapsible soil flooded with NaCl saline
Collapsible soils are unsaturated soils which may undergo inter-granular rearrangement with abrupt and significant volume reduction after wetting. The large settlement resulting from the soil collapse pushed for deep studies of these types of soils.

Determination of Collapse Potential of Gypseous Soil from Field and Laboratory Tests
Collapsible soils are known as problematic soils, which possess considerable strength when dry and lose their strength when inundated experiencing excessive settlements. The soil response to inundation (i.e.

Furrow tillage resolves the conventional‐vs.‐no‐tillage trade‐off by simultaneously cutting CO2 efflux to 2.0–3.0 g C m−2 d−1 and unlocking high nutrient availability for the rice rhizosphere. This scalable agronomic solution strengthens soil health, enhances plant physiology, reshapes microbial metabolism, and shifts paddy systems toward a net ...

Axially loaded piles in inundated collapsible soils under compression and tension forces [PDF]
The paper studies the behavior of axially loaded piles driven into inundated collapsible soils under compression and tension forces. Collapsible soils exhibit a considerable drop in the void ratio (i.e., significant changes in dry unit weight, friction ...

This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.
