Advancing Evapotranspiration Modeling With Optimized Soil and Canopy Resistance Combinations
Abstract Dual‐source remotely sensed evapotranspiration (ET) models require accurate separation of soil evaporation (Es), plant transpiration (Ec), and precipitation interception (Ei) based on soil and canopy resistances. Despite the availability of several ET products and algorithms, comprehensive evaluations of resistance configurations remain scarce.

Hausdorff dimensions of irreducible Markov hom tree‐shifts
Abstract This paper features a Cramér's theorem for finite‐state Markov chains indexed by rooted d$d$‐trees, obtained via the method of types in the classical analysis of large deviations. Along with the theorem comes two applications: an almost‐sure type convergence of sample means and a formula for the Hausdorff dimension of the symbolic space ...

The number system in rational base $3/2$ and the $3x+1$ problem
The representation of numbers in rational base $p/q$ was introduced in 2008 by Akiyama, Frougny & Sakarovitch, with a special focus on the case $p/q=3/2$.

Abstract Thermal acclimation of photosynthesis, the physiological adjustment to temperature over weeks, may help plants mitigate adverse impacts of global warming, but is often under‐represented in Earth System Models (ESMs). We evaluated a plant functional type (PFT)‐agnostic, optimality‐based model of C3 ${\mathrm{C}}_{3}$ photosynthesis with a ...

Parity-Based Level-Set Approach to the Collatz Conjecture
The Collatz conjecture concerns the iteration of the map f(n)=3n+1 for odd n and f(n)=n/2 for even n. In this paper, we study the level sets lx={n∈N∣L(n)=x}, where L(n) denotes the Collatz length.

Response of the tomato leaf miner Phthorimaea absoluta to wild and domesticated tomato genotypes
We evaluated oviposition and larval performance of P. absoluta on 19 tomato genotypes as an element of integrated pest management. Two wild tomatoes and a domesticated one showed resistance against the pest. Abstract BACKGROUND Phthorimaea absoluta, a highly destructive invasive pest, poses a significant threat to tomato production globally.

A Novel Approach to the Collatz Conjecture with Petri Nets
The Collatz conjecture is a famous unsolved problem in mathematics, known for its deceptively simple rules that generate complex, unpredictable behaviour.
