U(6) dynamical and quasi-dynamical symmetry in strongly deformed heavy nuclei

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
The low-lying collective states of the ground, β and γ bands in 154Sm and 238U are investigated within the framework of the microscopic proton-neutron symplectic model (PNSM).

Partial Dynamical SU(3) Symmetry and the Nature of the Lowest K=0 Collective Excitation in Deformed Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We discuss the implications of partial dynamical SU(3) symmetry (PDS) for the structure of the lowest K=0^{+} (K=0_2) collective excitation in deformed nuclei. We consider an interacting boson model Hamiltonian whose ground and gamma bands have good SU(3)

New features of collective motion of intrinsic degrees of freedom. Toward a possible way to classify the intrinsic states

open access: yes, 2002
Three exactly solvable Hamiltonians of complex structure are studied in the framework of a semi-classical approach. The quantized trajectories for intrinsic coordinates correspond to energies which may be classified in collective bands.

Optical model with multiple band couplings using soft rotator structure

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
A new dispersive coupled-channel optical model (DCCOM) is derived that describes nucleon scattering on 238U and 232Th targets using a soft-rotator-model (SRM) description of the collective levels of the target nucleus.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Quadrupole Collective States in a Large Single-J Shell

open access: yes, 1994
We discuss the ability of the generator coordinate method (GCM) to select collective states in microscopic calculations. The model studied is a single-$j$ shell with hamiltonian containing the quadrupole-quadrupole interaction.

Flat bands with higher Chern number in pyrochlore slabs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A large number of recent works point to the emergence of intriguing analogs of fractional quantum Hall states in lattice models due to effective interactions in nearly flat bands with Chern number C=1.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Investigation of Davydov splitting in the ir spectra of crystalline dicarboxylic acids [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2009
In the present paper the collective (vibrational) excitations in molecular crystals were studied. Since the corresponding molecular interactions are characterized by a small radius, the investigation results are important for the molecular and ...
