Collective spaces and collected action

Proceedings of the 2013 ACM conference on Pervasive and ubiquitous computing adjunct publication, 2013
Disconnection between food production, its consumers and in turn between consumers and nature is increasingly seen as problematic for both producers and society at large. Consumers now know very little about where their food has come from, leading potentially to less sustainable practices and less engagement with what they eat and drink. We present the

Collecting Space Rocks

Scientific American, 2018
The article discusses efforts by the spacecraft Hayabusa2 and OSIRIS-REx to obtain space rocks from asteroids. Topics include the retrieval of a sample from the asteroid Itokawa by the Hayabusa spacecraft, the similarity of asteroid composition to meteorite composition, and the possible implications of the missions for asteroid-mining operations.

Collection space distances

1995 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. Intelligent Systems for the 21st Century, 2002
This paper introduces collection space theory and proposes five collection space distances: scaled city block, angle, minimum, nearest first, and farthest first distances. A collection of set S is a discrete histogram of a finite subset of S. A collection space is set C of collections of a set S with a distance on C which satisfies certain axioms.

Decision Space: Collective Intelligence

2021
There are two-way and three-way decision spaces that involve multiple information taxonomy. In the three-way decision spaces, three basic elements: decision measurement, decision conditions, and decision evaluation functions are unified. The major challenges with collective intelligence are the screening, modeling, and measurement of information to ...

Efficient sampling in collective coordinate space

Proteins: Structure, Function, and Genetics, 2000
Collective motions in biological macromolecules have been shown to be important for function. The most important collective motions occur on slow time scales, which poses a sampling problem in dynamic simulation of biomolecules. We present a novel method for efficient conformational sampling.
