Fermions from Half-BPS Supergravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We discuss collective coordinate quantization of the half-BPS geometries of Lin, Lunin and Maldacena (hep-th/0409174). The LLM geometries are parameterized by a single function $u$ on a plane. We treat this function as a collective coordinate.

CURVATURE INTERACTION IN COLLECTIVE SPACE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics E, 2012
For the Riemannian space, built from the collective coordinates used within nuclear models, an additional interaction with the metric is investigated, using the collective equivalent to Einstein's curvature scalar. The coupling strength is determined using a fit with the AME2003 ground state masses.

Laughter and collective awareness: The cinema auditorium as public space

open access: yesNECSUS, 2014
This article looks at how the collective experience of laughter in the movie theater is related to the idea of the cinema as a public space. Through the non-verbal expression of laughter the audience ‘constructs’ a public space the viewers may not have ...

Market of Stocks during Crisis Looks Like a Flock of Birds

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
A crisis in financial markets can be considered as a collective behaviour phenomenon. The collective behaviour is a complex behaviour which exists among a group of animals. The Vicsek model has been adapted to represent this complexity.

Atmospheres for Living. Reportage between the Roman Houses

open access: yesIn_Bo, 2023
The contribution investigates through the photographic tool the space between some Roman houses built in the early 1900s, in which a collective dimension of living can be found. Through the built forms, the materials and the possibility of passing freely

Spaces of Collectivity

open access: yes, 2022
How is it to act collectively when each one of us brings our own perspective, values, assumptions, and also our own language? How does from the many become one ? What compromises does one need to make on the way? These were the questions we explored during the workshop Spaces of Collectivity. The aim was to collectively experience and enjoy space,

Unified hydrodynamics theory of the lowest Landau level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We propose a hydrodynamics theory of collective quantum Hall states, which describes incompressible liquids, hexatic liquid crystals, a bubble solid and a Wigner crystal states within a unified framework.

Thoughts from the public space towards collective creation of space.

open access: yesRevista de Arquitectura, 2016
This article is a theoretical reflection on the motivations of citizens to act creatively and collectively on their living spaces, on the assumption of a deficiency in the planning of the city to consider the sensitive experiences of the inhabitants ...

A stochastic-hydrodynamic model of halo formation in charged particle beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The formation of the beam halo in charged particle accelerators is studied in the framework of a stochastic-hydrodynamic model for the collective motion of the particle beam.

Space-time analysis of reaction at RHIC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Space-time information about the Au-Au collisions produced at RHIC are key tools to understand the evolution of the system and especially assess the presence of collective behaviors.
