Housing Selection, Need Satisfaction and Dropout from College
Psychological Reports, 1966The study investigates the relationship of 153 students' housing arrangements to the frequency of dropping out from college. Results indicate that dropping out was related to the living situation, the highest rates occurring for Ss living in rooms, in boarding houses, and at home, the lowest for those in sororities, men's dormitories, and co-ops.

The Personnel and Guidance Journal, 1967Results of research on college dropouts paint both a negative and a confusing picture of this group. The argument presented in this paper is that consideration of the college student's environment can help to resolve some of the apparent contradictions among the various characteristics of the college dropout.
