Capturing the Electrical Activity of all Cortical Neurons: Are Solutions Within Reach?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite advancements in implantable electrode technology, challenges persist in scaling up these devices to record most of the neuronal activity across the cortex. This review explores the limitations of both rigid and flexible probes, including tissue damage and foreign body response, while also discussing emerging biohybrid strategies.

Circulating Tumor Cells Shed Shearosome Extracellular Vesicles in Capillary Bifurcations That Activate Endothelial and Immune Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using microfluidic models of capillary networks, this study discovered that fluid shear stresses on circulating tumor cells transiting through capillary‐sized bifurcations shed a novel class of shear‐dependent large extracellular vesicle, “shearosomes”, whose proteome comprises of over 3000 distinct proteins.

Wide Linearity Range and Rapid‐Response Tactile Sensor Inspired by Parallel Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by parallel structures, a composite tactile sensor design is proposed using parallel elastomer integration, developing two novel sensors. This strategy optimizes the force‐electric response and viscoelastic hysteresis of the conductive composite, achieving a balanced enhancement of linear sensing range and fast response.

Engineering DNA Origami Captors for TGFβ1 Sequestration to Enhance Tumor Immune Modulation and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Programmable DNA framework captors effectively deplete circulatingtransforming growth factor‐β1 (TGFβ1) through fast systemic clearance and reshape the tumor immune microenvironment, alleviating immunosuppression to inhibit tumor progression. Abstract Efficient modulation of pivotal immune‐regulatory molecules to leverage the tumor microenvironment ...

Plasmon‐Driven Reorientation of Interfacial Water for Wastewater Electrolysis with Light‐Emitting Diode Illumination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) on Ir single‐atom Au catalysts restructures the hydrogen‐bond network, promoting flexible 3HB·H2O formation while suppressing K+·H2O species. This modulation of interfacial water enhances dehydrogenation and stabilizes reaction intermediates, leading to an increase in ammonia oxidation kinetics.
