Disappearance of Temporal Collinearity in Vertebrates and Its Eventual Reappearance

open access: yesBiology, 2021
It was observed that a cluster of ordered genes (Hox1, Hox2, Hox3…) in the genome are activated in the ontogenetic units (1, 2, 3 …) of an embryo along the Anterior/Posterior axis following the same order of the Hox genes.

The mechanisms of collinear integration

open access: yesJournal of Vision, 2006
Low-contrast visual contour fragments are easier to detect when presented in the context of nearby collinear contour elements (U. Polat & D. Sagi, 1993). The spatial and temporal determinants of this collinear facilitation have been studied extensively (J. R. Cass & B. Spehar, 2005; Y. Tanaka & D. Sagi, 1998; C. B. Williams & R. F.

Collinearity in bdelloid genomes.

open access: yes, 2018
(A) Collinearity versus synonymous divergence. Points represent collinear blocks of genes, plotted based on the average pairwise KS between pairs of genes within the block (x-axis) and a ‘collinearity index’, defined as the number of collinear genes ...

Emergent Topological Magnons and Thermal Hall Effect in 2D Filling‐Enforced Fully Compensated Ferrimagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of ferroelectric‐intercalation‐driven transitions in magnetic configurations and magnonic topological phases, together with the symmetry relations of magnonic Berry curvature. ABSTRACT Magnons in collinear magnets with vanishing net magnetization offer unique advantages for spin transport, including ultrafast dynamics and ...

Spatial confounding in joint species distribution models

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution
Joint species distribution models (JSDMs) are a popular method for analysing multivariate abundance data, with important applications such as uncovering how species communities are driven by environmental processes, model‐based ordination to visualise ...

Yield response to climate, management, and genotype: a large-scale observational analysis to identify climate-adaptive crop management practices in high-input maize systems

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2018
Sustaining food security under climate conditions expected for the 21st century will require that existing crop production systems simultaneously increase both productivity and resiliency to warmer and more variable climate conditions.

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Investigation of collinear and non-collinear antiferromagnets for spintronics

open access: yes, 2022
In 2021, roughly 1.72 trillion photos were taken every day, 6 million tweets were posted on twitter every minute, 143 billion mobile apps were downloaded. If just social media and smartphone users generate such staggering numbers, it is not hard to imagine why 90% of the world’s data was created just in the last two years. The technological solution to

Designing Stable Periodic Magnetization Textures by Tailoring Anisotropies and Applying Geometrical Transformation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores the possibility to design stable periodic magnetization textures by transforming a 2D film into a rolled‐up 3D architecture and back. In case of an isotropic exchange‐biased layer architecture, the magnetization encoded in the 3D state evolves into a spin‐spiral pattern with controlled periodicity after unrolling.
