Engineered Foxp1high Exosomes Ameliorates Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a dual‐engineering strategy combining mesenchymal stem cell aggregation and Foxp1 overexpression to generate Foxp1high aggregation exosomes with enhanced immunomodulatory properties. These engineered exosomes exhibit immune organ targeting and superior efficacy in systemic lupus erythematosus treatment by promoting Treg ...

A Two‐Protein Chemoreceptor Complex Regulates Oxygen Thresholds in Bacterial Magneto‐Aerotaxis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetotactic bacteria align with Earth's magnetic field, helping them migrate toward low‐oxygen environments. This study reveals how Magnetospirillum gryphiswaldense uses a specialized flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD)‐dependent chemoreceptor, composed of two interacting proteins, for precise navigation in oxygen gradients.

Surface‐Engineered Cenospheres Encapsulating Phase Change Materials for Functional Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The global energy demand drives the need for advanced energy‐efficient building solutions. While current polymeric‐shell microencapsulated PCMs show promise for thermal energy storage, their use in cementitious materials is challenged by poor shell strength and interfacial bonding. This study develops novel cement‐compatible microencapsulated PCM using

Red Blood Cell‐Induced Bacterial Margination Improves Microbial Hemoadsorption on Engineered Cell‐Depleted Thrombi, Restoring Severe Bacteremia in Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A highly efficient extracorporeal device for treating bacteremia is developed by integrating microfluidic bacterial margination and engineered cell‐depleted thrombi strategically constructed in the device. The rodent models, severely infected with antibiotic‐resistant bacteria, recover from bacteremia after two subsequent extracorporeal blood ...

Dual‐Locking the SARS‐CoV‐2 Spike Trimer: An Amphipathic Molecular “Bolt” Stabilizes Conserved Druggable Interfaces for Coronavirus Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new amphipathic molecule, S416 is discovered, that locks the SARS‐CoV‐2 spike protein in its closed state, blocking viral entry. S416 acts as a molecular bolt, binding six sites: three between adjacent RBDs and three connecting NTDs to RBDs. This dual‐locking mechanism stiffens the spike structure and reduces its flexibility.
