Hybrid Quatsome‐Encapsulated Silver Nanoparticles as Stable Plasmonic Substrates for Surface‐Enhanced Raman Scattering

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
In this work, silver nanoparticles encapsulated within quatsome membranes have shown to preserve their plasmonic properties for at least 165 days without aggregation. These hybrid nanostructures enable strong SERS enhancement of pyrene and Prodan by confining the molecules within a few nanometers from the silver surface.

Third Ventricle Colloid Cyst as a Cause of Sudden Drop Attacks of a 13-Year-Old Boy

open access: yesEmergency, 2014
Colloid cysts are mucous-filled masses with an outer fibrous layer. These cysts are rare developmental malformation and not a true neoplasm. They usually found incidentally and are asymptomatic; but in some cases may associate with rapid neurologic ...

Polyglycerol‐Based Lipids: A Next‐Generation Alternative to PEG in Lipid Nanoparticles for Advanced Drug Delivery Systems

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Linear polyglycerol is proposed as a PEG‐alternative in mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles to limit activation of anti‐PEG antibodies and reduce immunogenicity. Resulting nanoparticles may provide similar gene delivery capabilities, while preventing binding of anti‐PEG antibodies compared to PEGylated counterparts.

On the Assembly of Actin Polymerization‐Powered Motors

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Actin polymerization‐powered motors have the highest speed when the actin recruiting‐polymerizing proteins are immobilized in polymer brushes on their surface. These motors orbit around larger tracer particles at pH above the isoelectric point of ActA but dock onto the tracer particles’ surface at lower pH. ABSTRACT Nano‐ and micromotors are a class of

Mass Spectrometry Insights Into Post‐Translational Modifications in Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are membrane‐enclosed structures secreted by virtually all living cells, serving as essential mediators of intercellular communication in both physiological and pathological processes. There is growing interest in their potential applications as biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and drug delivery systems, which ...

Cationic‐Hydrophilic Di‐Block Copolymers: Surface‐Shielded Vectors for Gene Delivery

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1419-1432, 15 March 2025.
This study develops synthetic polycationic di‐block carriers for nucleic acid (NA) delivery in gene therapy. Consisting of a cationic block and a hydrophilic block, these carriers efficiently form complexes with NAs and shield them with a protective bioinert layer, enhancing stability during circulation in the bloodstream while reducing undesirable ...
