Successful Endoscopic Ultrasound‐Guided Transgastric Drainage for Intra‐Abdominal Abscess Caused by Delayed Perforation After Gastric Endoscopic Mucosal Resection

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Delayed perforation after gastric endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) is a rare but serious complication that can lead to intra‐abdominal abscess (IAA) formation. Efficacy of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)‐guided drainage for IAA remains to be elucidated. A man in his 50s was admitted for EMR of hyperplastic polyps located in the gastric body. The

Rectal Arteriovenous Malformation Mimicking a Submucosal Tumor: Successful Long‐Term Outcome After Transcatheter Arterial Embolization With N‐Butyl‐2‐Cyanoacrylate‐Lipiodol

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Rectal arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are rare vascular anomalies that pose diagnostic challenges because they may resemble submucosal tumor–like lesions. A 54‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hematochezia, and a colonoscopy revealed a protruding lesion near the dentate line.

Utility of Combined Indigo Carmine and Red Dichromatic Imaging for Pit Pattern Diagnosis in Colorectal Lesions: A Comparison with Crystal Violet

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
With indigo carmine alone, pits appear navy blue and the surrounding mucosa pale red, colors roughly 90° apart on the color wheel. In contrast, IC + RDI renders pits violet and mucosa yellowcomplementary colors positioned 180° apart. This stronger chromatic contrast enhances visual discrimination, improving visibility score (3.17 vs.

Evaluation of Visibility With an Eye‐tracking System: Effectiveness of Narrow‐Band Imaging for Detecting Colorectal Adenoma and Serrated Lesions

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Image‐enhanced endoscopy may reduce colorectal cancer mortality by improving lesion detection. Narrow‐band imaging and texture and color enhancement imaging are widely used, but their diagnostic efficacy compared with white light imaging remains unclear.

Contrasting Reproductive and Early Life‐History Strategies in Recently Diverged Octocoral Species (Paramuricea spp.)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
The two color morphs of the Iberian–Atlantic Paramuricea complex show little genetic divergence, and their species boundaries have remained unclear. By analyzing gametogenesis, spawning timing, fertilization environment, and early life‐history traits, we reveal strong prezygotic barriers and divergent developmental and dispersal strategies between the ...
