We have briefly presented our concepts of the investigation and management of lower intestinal bleeding. Such bleeding was divided into massive and nonmassive colonic hemorrhage, and the differences in the investigative techniques were discussed for each of these circumstances.

Ganglioneuromas are neuroectodermal tumors that are found in diverse anatomic sites, but they are very uncommon in the colon. We observed a patient with partial colonic obstruction whose roentgenogram had a napkin-ring construction that was thought to be carcinoma. On resection, pathologic examination showed a ganglioneuroma.

In the anatomy of the colon vasculature, the ascending branch of the left colic artery is the primary supplying vessel (96.91%). Isoperistaltic transposition of the transverse colon is preferred (83.58%). Riolan's vascular arcade is not a major vessel of the colon.
