Occult Dysplasia in a Localized Giant Pseudopolyp in Crohn’s Colitis: A Case Report

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2009
Localized giant pseudopolyposis of the colon (pseudopolyp larger than 1.5 cm in size) is a rare complication of inflammatory bowel disease. There is one report of an occult carcinoma within such a lesion, and no reports of sole dysplasia.

Development of a risk scoring system for predicting advanced colorectal neoplasia within subcentimetric polyps: A population‐based study

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Diseases, Volume 25, Issue 7, Page 436-443, July 2024.
The present study devised a risk score for prediction of advanced colorectal neoplasia (ACN) based on seven elementary variables, namely, age, gender, inpatient colonoscopy, chronic disease count, anemia, and other nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Colorectal cancer screening for average-risk North Americans: an economic evaluation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Medicine, 2010
BACKGROUND: Colorectal cancer (CRC) fulfills the World Health Organization criteria for mass screening, but screening uptake is low in most countries. CRC screening is resource intensive, and it is unclear if an optimal strategy exists.

A Clinical Decision Support Framework for Incremental Polyps Classification in Virtual Colonoscopy

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2010
We present in this paper a novel dynamic learning method for classifying polyp candidate detections in Computed Tomographic Colonography (CTC) using an adaptation of the Least Square Support Vector Machine (LS-SVM).

Computed tomographic colonography: Hope or hype?

open access: yesWorld Journal of Gastroenterology, 2010
Computed tomographic colonography (CTC) is a promising emerging technology for imaging of the colon. This concise review discusses the currently available data on CTC technique, test characteristics, acceptance, safety, cost-effectiveness, follow-up strategy, and extracolonic findings.
