Remnant Symmetry and the Confinement Phase in Coulomb Gauge

open access: yes, 2004
We report on connections between the confining color Coulomb potential, center vortices, and the unbroken realization of remnant gauge symmetry in Coulomb gauge.Comment: 6 pages.

Color Centers in Additively Colored CsBr

open access: yesPhysical Review, 1962
Color centers have been studied in CsBr single crystals additively colored with potassium or cesium. More than ten absorption bands were produced, most of which had previously been found in crystals colored by ionizing radiation. All bands produced by irradiation at or above liquid nitrogen temperature appear to arise from trapped electrons.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Longitudinal profile of luminescent tracks induced by laser filaments in LiF crystal

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика
Filamentation of femtosecond laser pulses in a lithium fluoride crystal LiF leads to the formation of luminescent tracks from color centers, such as F2 and F+3 centers.

The edge of the young Galactic disc [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this work we report and discuss the detection of two distant diffuse stellar groups in the third Galactic quadrant. They are composed of young stars, with spectral types ranging from late O to late B, and lie at galactocentric distances between 15 and

Color centers in YAG

open access: yesAIMS Materials Science, 2015
Yttrium aluminum garnet (Y3Al5O12, YAG) is one of the most important optical materials with many existing and potential future applications in laser, illumination, and scintillation. X-rays, g-rays, and UV light can induce ionization and significant changes in the valency of impurities and defects in YAG single crystals which may lead to the formation ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Density and kinematic cusps in M54 at the heart of the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy: evidence for a 10^4 M_sun Black Hole?

open access: yes, 2009
We report the detection of a stellar density cusp and a velocity dispersion increase in the center of the globular cluster M54, located at the center of the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy (Sgr).
