Deep Color Constancy Using Multi-Band NIR

Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association Annual Summit and Conference, 2022
This paper proposes deep a deep color constancy method that exploits multi-band NIR. In recent years, NIR col-orization has been popularly studied in literature.

Color Decoupling for Multi-Illumination Color Constancy

IEEE transactions on circuits and systems for video technology (Print)
Current multi-illumination color constancy methods typically estimate illumination for each pixel directly. However, according to the multi-illumination imaging equation, the color of each pixel is determined by various components, including the innate ...

A Convolutional Framework for Color Constancy

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems
We introduce a convolutional framework (CF) for computational color constancy, building upon the established low-level image feature-based framework, which utilized simple image statistics for illuminant estimation.

Bayesian color constancy revisited

2008 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2008
Computational color constancy is the task of estimating the true reflectances of visible surfaces in an image. In this paper we follow a line of research that assumes uniform illumination of a scene, and that the principal step in estimating reflectances is the estimation of the scene illuminant.

On the evaluation of temporal and spatial stability of color constancy algorithms.

Journal of The Optical Society of America A-optics Image Science and Vision, 2021
Computational color constancy algorithms are commonly evaluated only through angular error analysis on annotated datasets of static images. The widespread use of videos in consumer devices motivated us to define a richer methodology for color constancy ...

Color Constancy in Shadows

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1958
Because color samples perceived as surfaces or objects tend to look much the same under various viewing conditions, they are said to possess color constancy. The viewing condition chosen for study was an obvious shadow of daylight quality falling on a color sample and part of a surrounding white field; the less the effect of the shadow on the color ...

How does Color Constancy Affect Target Recognition and Instance Segmentation?

ACM Multimedia, 2021
Previous work has demonstrated that incorrect white balance (WB) in the camera image signal processing pipeline has a negative impact on the performance of deep neural networks (DNNs) in high-level vision tasks, and traditional image augmentation ...

Adaptive Color Constancy Using Faces

IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2014
In this work we design an adaptive color constancy algorithm that, exploiting the skin regions found in faces, is able to estimate and correct the scene illumination. The algorithm automatically switches from global to spatially varying color correction on the basis of the illuminant estimations on the different faces detected in the image.

Deep multi-resolution color constancy

2017 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), 2017
In this paper, a computational color constancy method is proposed via estimating the illuminant chromaticity in a scene by pooling from many local estimates. To this end, first, for each image in a dataset, we form an image pyramid consisting of several scales of the original image.

Multi-Domain Learning for Accurate and Few-Shot Color Constancy

Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2020
Color constancy is an important process in camera pipeline to remove the color bias of captured image caused by scene illumination. Recently, significant improvements in color constancy accuracy have been achieved by using deep neural networks (DNNs ...
