[Kidney obstruction: potential use of ultrasonography and Doppler color ultrasonography].

open access: yesArchivio italiano di urologia, andrologia : organo ufficiale [di] Societa italiana di ecografia urologica e nefrologica, 2001
Ultrasonography is the first imaging approach in evaluation of patients with urinary obstruction. Presence of hydronephrosis, urinomas and inflammatory complications can be assessed. Moreover, the level and the cause of obstruction are often identified.

Large Hydatid Cyst in the Cardiac Interventricular Septum: A Rare Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Hydatid disease is a parasitic disease with a high incidence in pastoral areas in Tibet. The heart is an uncommon location of echinococcosis, and involvement of the interventricular septum is even rarer. This disease can remain asymptomatic for a long time, but may result in cardiac tamponade and sudden death.

Accessory Cavitated Uterine Malformation (ACUM): A Case Series

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
Accessory cavitated uterine malformation (ACUM) can be misdiagnosed as other uterine pathologies, such as mullerian anomalies, adenomyosis or fibroids. Imaging, particularly gynecological ultrasound plays a fundamental role in identifying this condition.

Accuracy Of Colour Doppler Ultrasonography In Differentiating Benign From Malignant Thyroid Nodules

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Medicine and Dentistry
Background: The prevalence of thyroid nodular disease is commonly found in iodine deficient areas. Majority of these nodules are benign and less than 5% of thyroid nodules being malignant. High resolution Ultrasonography is primary modality of choice

Transcranial Color‐Coded Duplex Sonography in Large‐Vessel Vasculitis Compatible With Takayasu Arteritis Presenting Intracranial Involvement and Vertebrobasilar Dolichoectasia: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
This case illustrates sequential intracranial occlusions in large‐vessel vasculitis compatible with Takayasu arteritis preserving perfusion through robust collateral pathways. Transcranial color‐coded duplex sonography identified characteristic blunted flow patterns and focal turbulence, underscoring its value in detecting hemodynamic compromise beyond

Using ultrafast angio planewave ultrasensitive and conventional doppler imaging techniques to assess intramuscular blood perfusion in older adults

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging
Background Microvascular ultrasound imaging techniques such as Angio PLanewave UltraSensitive (Angio-PL.U.S.) have been used to detect microvascular blood flow in various organs and tissues. However, the advantage of Angio-PL.U.S.

Sonographic Diagnosis of an Intercostal Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, EarlyView.
A 63‐year‐old male presented to the emergency department after being found unconscious during a welfare check. Following a prolonged three‐month hospital admission, the patient developed left flank pain. Spectral Doppler ultrasound revealed a large isoechoic lesion with layering echoes, and spectral Doppler demonstrated bidirectional flow.
