Color doppler ultrasonography of soft-tissue masses
Acta Radiologica, 1998Purpose: To evaluate the capability of color Doppler ultrasonography to differentiate between benign and malignant soft-tissue tumors. Material and Methods: We reviewed the ultrasonographic (US) and color Doppler (CD) findings in 46 consecutive patients with a palpable periskeletal mass.

Thyroid nodules: evaluation with color Doppler ultrasonography
Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 1993Forty-seven patients with thyroid nodules (13 papillary carcinomas, 14 adenomas, and 20 adenomatous goiters) underwent color Doppler sonography with a 7.5 MHz transducer. Perinodular or intranodular color flow signals were depicted in 10 of 13 papillary carcinomas, in 10 of 14 follicular adenomas, and in 14 of 20 adenomatous goiters.

Color Doppler ultrasonography in pediatric intussusception.
Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 1994CDU was used in 11 children with intussusception. Demonstration of vascular images within the "pseudokidney" mass was possible in none of 11 cases. Of them, eight could be treated by hydrostatic reduction. In the remaining case, marked edema of the bowel wall did not allow reduction, and surgery had to be performed: no necrosis was observed in the ...

Color Doppler Ultrasonography of a Pancreatic Arteriovenous Malformation
Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine, 2005A pancreatic arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a rare disease entity that has been estimated to account for 4% to 5% of all AVMs in digestive organs, and, to our knowledge, only 53 cases have been reported in the radiologic literature. 1 - 1 3 Although color Doppler ultrasonography may be very valuable in the diagnosis of disease, we found only ...

Errors in Color Doppler Ultrasonography
2012Artifacts are encountered daily in routine clinical sonography. They may be observed in B-mode gray-scale imaging, spectral pulsed Doppler imaging, and color Doppler imaging. In the context of imaging, the word “artifact” is taken to mean components of the image that are generated in the imaging process but which are not properly indicative of the ...

Utility of Color Doppler Ultrasonography Predicting TIPS Dysfunction
The American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2005Color Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) has been proposed as an alternative to portal pressure gradient (PPG) measurement to detect transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) dysfunction but with inconsistent results. This study aimed at developing and validating CDUS criteria to assess TIPS dysfunction.A total of 117 consecutive follow-up ...

Prenatal diagnosis of sirenomelus with color Doppler ultrasonography
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1994Sirenomelus is an invariably lethal congenital anomaly characterized by complete or nearly complete fusion of the lower extremities that occurs in 1 of 60,000 births. In about 50% of cases this condition cannot be diagnosed prenatally because of the associated oligohydramnios that precludes a detailed examination of the fetus.

Investigation of placental circulations by color Doppler ultrasonography
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1991The placental circulations of 25 normal and five complicated pregnancies were studied by color Doppler ultrasonography. Flow velocity waveforms were obtained in all 30 pregnancies and could discriminate between fetal and maternal intraplacental blood flow.

Color Doppler Ultrasonography in Patients with Subacute Thyroiditis
Thyroid, 1999We studied the utility of color Doppler ultrasonography in patients with subacute thyroiditis. Eighteen patients with subacute thyroiditis (SAT) with painful goiter and thyrotoxicosis underwent color Doppler ultrasonography during the acute and recovery stages of the disease.

Application of color Doppler ultrasonography to ulcerative colitis
Journal of Medical Ultrasonics, 2003We used color Doppler ultrasonography (US) to evaluate bowel wall thickening in ulcerative colitis and to determine the value of this modality in this application. Twelve patients (6 men and 6 women) with ulcerative colitis underwent both gray-scale and color Doppler US.
