Identification of predictive factors for reversal of cerebral vasculopathy in an original longitudinal cohort study in newborns with sickle cell anaemia

Summary Cerebral macrovasculopathy (CV) is a major complication in children with sickle cell anaemia (SCA) and usually requires a long‐term transfusion programme (TP) to prevent stroke. This study aimed to identify factors predicting reversal of CV on TP in a single‐centre newborn cohort. Among 375 patients, 50 presented CV and received TP.

HPV42 – a human papillomavirus classified as a low‐risk type with oncogenic potential

Summary Human papillomavirus (HPV) type 42 is a rare HPV type currently classified as “low‐risk” and belongs to the alpha genus. It has primarily been detected in benign vulvar papillomas and is predominantly associated with benign lesions such as anogenital warts.

Mitral regurgitation and decompensated heart failure in a young pregnant pony mare: An aetiological challenge

Summary A 4‐year‐old, 6‐month pregnant, Welsh pony mare presented with severe acute clinical signs including depression, anorexia, pale mucous membranes, tachycardia with a grade 4/6 holosystolic murmur and moderate expiratory dyspnoea with diffuse wheezes. There was no evidence of placentitis or fetal distress.
