Color Doppler Ultrasound Examination in Orbital Diseases
2016The diameter of the vessels in the eyeball is small, less than 1 mm in healthy people; therefore, these vessels are not seen in the ophthalmologic ultrasound. The diameter of the large veins is about 1 mm, but these veins collapse or their lumen decreases as a consequence of slightly increased intraocular pressure due to positioning the transducer.
