GPU-based color Doppler ultrasound processing

2009 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium, 2009
In this paper, we present the use of a graphics processing unit to perform color Doppler signal processing. Color Doppler has been mainly implemented on custom-designed hardware due to the large amount of data and number of computations that are involved.

Color transcranial “power” Doppler ultrasound of intracranial aneurysms

Journal of Neurosurgery, 1996
✓ “Color Doppler energy” (or “power Doppler”), a new color Doppler ultrasound technique that is independent of flow direction and very sensitive to movement, was assessed for its use in the identification of intracranial aneurysms in patients with recent subarachnoid hemorrhage immediately prior to using cerebral angiography.

Adnexal torsion: color Doppler and three-dimensional ultrasound

Abdominal Imaging, 2009
To correlate preoperative ultrasound and color Doppler findings in patients with surgically proven adnexal torsion.A 5-year retrospective study included 36 patients with acute lower abdominal and/or pelvic pain. Twenty-four patients had complete adnexal torsion followed by adnexectomy.

Color Doppler Ultrasound

Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, 2012
ObjectiveThe gracilis muscle free flap has become a reliable means for smile reanimation for patients with facial paralysis. Because it is a buried flap, it presents a postoperative monitoring challenge. We sought to evaluate our experience with color Doppler ultrasound in the monitoring of gracilis free flap viability in the immediate postoperative ...

Paraumbilical venous collateral circulations: Color Doppler ultrasound features

Journal of Clinical Ultrasound, 1996
Using Color Doppler ultrasonography to trace the dilated paraumbilical vein to its connection with systemic veins in 27 patients, we have found four major pathways: In type 1 (63%), the vein connected with the external iliac vein via the inferior epigastric vein.

Color Doppler ultrasound imaging in iatrogenic arterial injuries

The American Journal of Surgery, 1991
Pulsatile masses following arterial puncture for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures may represent false aneurysms or noncommunicating periarterial hematomas with transmitted arterial pulsation. Color Doppler ultrasound imaging was used in 27 patients with pulsatile groin masses.

Ultrasound and Color Doppler Ultrasound of Liver Metastases

1999
In western countries metastases are the most common cause of malignant focal liver lesions. Metastases are 18–20 times more common than primary malignant tumors. Sixty percent of patients with newly diagnosed solid tumors (excluding skin cancer other than melanoma) have clinically evident or microscopic metastases, when the primary tumor is diagnosed ...

Color Doppler ultrasound imaging of theeye and orbit

Survey of Ophthalmology, 1996
Color Doppler imaging is a non-invasive ultrasound procedure which permits simultaneous gray scale imaging of structure and color-coded imaging of blood velocity. This improved technique allows the user to identify even very small blood vessels, such as those supplying the eye, from which measures of blood velocity and vascular resistance can be ...

Color doppler ultrasound of pulmonary consolidation

European Journal of Ultrasound, 1996
Abstract Color Doppler ultrasound (US) is a very powerful imaging tool that can simultaneously display blood flow information and Doppler spectral analysis. This imaging modality, for the first time, provides an opporturnity to assess pulmonary blood flow and perfusion noninvasively. Color Doppler US has many potential applications in diseases of the
