KKM type theorems with boundary conditions

open access: yes, 2016
We consider generalizations of Gale's colored KKM lemma and Shapley's KKMS theorem. It is shown that spaces and covers can be much more general and the boundary KKM rules can be substituted by more weaker boundary assumptions.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures.

Samuel Zyman’s "Concerto for Cello and Orchestra": An Analytical Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
A professor at The Juilliard School since 1986, Zyman is one of Mexico’s foremost composers of today. His cello concerto (1990) exhibits solid technique, intense expression, and effective interaction between soloist and orchestra. The author demonstrates

Switchable Magnonic Crystals Based on Spin Crossover/CrSBr Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiscale modeling is employed to investigate the functionality of a light‐controlled, tunable magnonic crystal based on spin‐crossover Fe‐pz molecules integrated with a monolayer of CrSBr. Ab initio simulations confirm that the molecules remain functional on the CrSBr surface, while a semiclassical elastic model demonstrates that light‐induced ...

Analyzing Visual Mappings of Traditional and Alternative Music Notation

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper, we postulate that combining the domains of information visualization and music studies paves the ground for a more structured analysis of the design space of music notation, enabling the creation of alternative music notations that are ...

Supercooperation in Evolutionary Games on Correlated Weighted Networks

open access: yes, 2012
In this work we study the behavior of classical two-person, two-strategies evolutionary games on a class of weighted networks derived from Barab\'asi-Albert and random scale-free unweighted graphs.

Resonant Domain Wall Dynamics in a Three‐Dimensional Magnetic Nano Double Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D magnetic nanostructures promise exciting possibilities for magnetization dynamics. However, experimental realizations remain scarce. In nanoprinted cobalt double helices, time‐resolved X‐ray microscopy reveals harmonic domain wall dynamics. Simulations identify the mode and additional higher‐frequency resonances, revealing a rich dynamic landscape ...

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of
