Performance of Color-Harmony Models in Predicting Visual Color Harmony for Color-Apparel Images

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Abstract. Color harmony has been systematically investigated since 1956 at Budapest using specific pattern samples with the exception of textile specimens. And, so far, there are two known color harmony models proposed by Ou et al. (abbreviated as the Ou) and Szabó et al. (as the Szabó) separately. According to the experimental results proposed by Kuo,

Minimal harmoniously colorable designs

Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 1994
AbstractA graph G is minimal harmoniously colorable if it has a proper vertex coloring in which each pair of colors occurs exactly once on an edge. In particular, if D is a 2‐design we consider the graph G whose vertices are the points and blocks of D and where two vertices of G are adjacent if and only if the corresponding elements of D are incident ...

Color harmony

Color Research & Application, 2001
AbstractColors seen together to produce a pleasing affective response are said to be in harmony. The term color harmony is not, however, a concise, descriptive term; rather, it is one with a wide range of meanings because of any or all of several conditional attributes.

Color harmonies in packaging

Color Research & Application, 2016
AbstractThe goal of this research was to determine whether or not there was a difference between consumer preferences for color harmonies for products where external labels and visible product existed simultaneously. Using established color theory, transparent packages containing visible products with colored labels were evaluated. Eye tracking metrics

Color harmony attributes

Color Research & Application, 1991
AbstractA content analysis of nine books on color is used to confirm the multifarious nature of color harmony. Different meanings of the harmony concept are distributed over twelve attributes. Results are condensed into six unique domains to encompass all meanings of color harmony.

On the Harmonious Coloring of Graphs

SIAM Journal on Algebraic Discrete Methods, 1983
The following ''harmonious coloring problem'' is defined and is shown to be NP-complete. Instance: Graph \(G=(V,E)\), positive integer \(k\leq | V|\). Question: Does there exist a function \(f:V\to \{1,2,...,k\}\) such that for every pair of distinct edges \(\{\) u,\(v\}\) and \(\{\) x,\(y\}\) in E one has \(\{f(u),f(v)\}\neq \{f(x),f(y)\}.\)

Color design support system considering color harmony

2002 IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence. 2002 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems. FUZZ-IEEE'02. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37291), 2003
Color design is very important for a product design. In this paper, we propose a system which aims to support such a color design. Proposed system is composed of 5 parts, such as the part which evaluates the harmony of colors, the color combining part, color scheme image judging part, image word output part and lastly image comparison part.

Harmonious color model with fragrances

Color Research & Application, 2011
AbstractThe purpose of this study was to create a harmonious color model with fragrance, depending on the similarity of impressions from the color and the fragrance. This study consisted of two experiments. Experiment 1, our objective was to extract dimensions in fragrance impressions and consider harmonious/disharmonious colors with each fragrance ...

Harmonious Vertex Colorings

2016
In this chapter, we study vertex colorings of graphs, where the colors are elements of \(\mathbb{Z}_{k}\) or of [k] for some integer k ≥ 2. These give rise to either edge-distinguishing labelings or proper edge colorings defined in a variety of ways.
