Environmentally-shaped colored spreading sequences for robust wireless communications
2010 International Waveform Diversity and Design Conference, 2010Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum modulation is widely used in wireless commercial communication systems for code division multiple-access supporting multiple users simultaneously. The spreading sequences employed are often drawn from a finite set of spreading sequences that are orthogonal or exhibit good cross-correlation properties and therefore ...

Transparency: Relation to Depth, Subjective Contours, Luminance, and Neon Color Spreading
Perception, 1990The perception of transparency is highly dependent on luminance and perceived depth. An image region is seen as transparent if it is of intermediate luminance relative to adjacent image regions, and if it is perceived in front of another region and has a boundary which provides information that an object is visible through this region.

Medical Hypotheses, 2016
We propose a hypothesis concerning the neural basis of the mental 'calendar' we all carry around in our brains, based on observations we made on a 25year old 'projector synaesthete', EA, who displays some novel and instructive features. In addition to her grapheme-color synaesthesia, she has a circular 'calendar line', laid out vividly in front of her ...

Origin of Spread in the B — K Color of Quasars
1997Recently Webster et al. (1995) have shown that there is excess reddening in radio selected quasars relative to the optically selected population. If the reddening is universal to all quasars, then optical surveys which depend on the UV excess, say, would be seriously incomplete.
