Fixed speed competition on the configuration model with infinite variance degrees: equal speeds [PDF]
We study competition of two spreading colors starting from single sources on the configuration model with i.i.d. degrees following a power-law distribution with exponent $\tau\in (2,3)$. In this model two colors spread with a fixed and equal speed on the

The dynamical origin of the universality classes of spatiotemporal intermittency
Studies of the phase diagram of the coupled sine circle map lattice have identified the presence of two distinct universality classes of spatiotemporal intermittency viz.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Additive Effect of Luminance and Color Cues in Generation of Neon Color Spreading
A series of experiments were designed to examine how luminance and color cues influence the occurrence of neon color spreading for the Ehrenstein pattern plus the cross pattern. The proportion of "see" responses for color spreading was obtained for different combinations of the luminance and color of the pattern components. The following were obtained.

Spreading with evaporation and condensation in one-component fluids
We investigate the dynamics of spreading of a small liquid droplet in gas in a one-component simple fluid, where the temperature is inhomogeneous around 0.9Tc and latent heat is released or generated at the interface upon evaporation or condensation ...

Numerical simulation of single droplet dynamics in three-phase flows using ISPH [PDF]
In this study, a new surface tension formulation for modeling incompressible, immiscible three-phase fluid flows in the context of incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (ISPH) in two dimensions has been proposed.

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Contour adaptation reduces the spreading of edge induced colors
Brief exposure to flickering achromatic outlines of an area causes a reduction in the brightness contrast of the surface inside the area. This contour adaptation to achromatic contours does not reduce surface contrast when the surface is chromatic (the saturation or colorimetric purity of the surface is maintained).

A framework for epidemic spreading in multiplex networks of metapopulations [PDF]
We propose a theoretical framework for the study of epidemics in structured metapopulations, with heterogeneous agents, subjected to recurrent mobility patterns.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
