Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Effects of Different Storage Methods on Fresh Macadamia Nut Quality
The fresh macadamia nuts were stored by 3 storage methods: field spreading storage, indoor spreading storage, and indoor stacking storage for 70 days. Differences in environment temperature, pile temperature, moisture content, cracking rate, mold rate ...

Colored point spread function engineering for parallel confocal microscopy
Using the color selectivity of a spatial light modulator (SLM) for both, tailoring the excitation beam at one wavelength, and multiplexing the image at the red-shifted fluorescence wavelength, it is possible to parallelize confocal microscopy, i.e. to simultaneously detect an axial stack (z-stack) of a sample. For this purpose, two diffractive patterns,

Visualizing infection spread: Dual‐color fluorescent reporting of virus–host interactions [PDF]
ABSTRACTAlthough the molecular mechanisms by which host cells defend themselves against viral infection have been studied in great depth, and countermeasures viruses employ to suppress such defensive responses have been widely documented, relatively little attention has been devoted toward elucidating how such interactions between virus and host are ...

Emergence of influential spreaders in modified rumor models
The burst in the use of online social networks over the last decade has provided evidence that current rumor spreading models miss some fundamental ingredients in order to reproduce how information is disseminated.

Wetting of anisotropic sinusoidal surfaces - experimental and numerical study of directional spreading [PDF]
Directional wettability, i.e. variation of wetting properties depending on the surface orientation, can be achieved by anisotropic surface texturing. A new high precision process can produce homogeneous sinusoidal surfaces (in particular parallel grooves)

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
