Direct hemoglobin measurement by monolithically integrated optical beam guidance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a concept for optical beam guidance by total internal reflection (TIR) at V-grooves as retro reflectors which are monolithically integrated on a microfluidic "lab-on-a-disk".

DIRECT COLORIMETRIC ANALYSIS OF STILBESTROL DIPROPIONATE [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Assiut, 1978
A convenient and specific spectrophotometric determination of stilbestrol and stilbestrol dipropionate is developed by interaction with 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride at 50°C for 45 minutes and subsequent measurement of the color formed at 485 nm.

Paracrine Factor Local Gradient‐Generating System for Engineering Perfusable Vascularized Hepatocyte Tissues with Perfusion‐Induced Proliferation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A paracrine factor local gradient (PFLG)‐generating system enables microvessel penetration across 3D hepatocyte tissues. The resulting vascularized constructs recapitulate hepatic sinusoidal hepatocyte—endothelial contact architecture and enhance hepatic functions in vitro.

Smartphone-assisted colorimetric determination of chemical equilibrium constant (Kc) as an alternative method in high school chemistry

open access: yesChemistry Teacher International
This study aims to develop an alternative method for the determination of the chemical equilibrium constant (Kc) of thiocyanatoiron(III) complex ion, based on colorimetric analysis of smartphone-captured images.

Turning Image Sensors into Position and Time Sensitive Quantitative Colorimetric Data Sources with the Aid of Novel Image Processing/Analysis Software

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Still images and video images acquired from image sensors are very valuable sources of information. From still images, position-sensitive, quantitative intensity, or colorimetric information can be obtained.

Chemoenzymatic elaboration of monosaccharides using engineered cytochrome P450_(BM3) demethylases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Polysaccharides comprise an extremely important class of biopolymers that play critical roles in a wide range of biological processes, but the synthesis of these compounds is challenging because of their complex structures.

Diels‐Alder Click Chemistry as a Dynamic‐Covalent Crosslinking Method in Spheroid‐Encapsulating Hydrogels for Cartilage Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This research shows the development of hydrogels with Diels‐Alder click chemistry for engineering cartilage‐like tissue. The hydrogels support cartilage spheroids which could be cultured for at least 28 days. Furthermore, the spheroids showed a tendency to fuse together into a more consistent construct, and produced important components needed for ...

Development of a Smartphone-Linked Immunosensing System for Oxytocin Determination

open access: yesBiosensors
We report an optical immunosensing system for oxytocin (OXT) based on image analysis of color reactions in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). We employed a miniaturized optical immunosensing unit that was functionally connected to an LED and a
