Rapid colorimetric methods using various indicator reagents have been developed to monitor bacterial viability. Here, we examined the applicability of a method based on the reduction of resazurin or water-soluble tetrazolium salt-8 (WST-8) to screen lactic acid bacteria (LAB) for growth, tolerance against bile acid and low pH.

Goniometric and colorimetric properties of paints and varnish
SPIE Proceedings, 2015The spectral reflectance of different samples of three different hues, (red, green, blue) with four different protective varnishes was measured in 8/d condition and with a goniometer equipped with a spectrometer. The samples are representative of hue and varnishes typically used in works of arts, the characterization was performed to test how the ...

Preparation, properties, and colorimetric determination of diacetylmethylcarbinol
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1957Abstract Methods for the enzymic and chemical synthesis of substrate amounts of diacetylmethylcarbinol have been outlined. Diacetylmethylcarbinol has been characterized chemically and some of its properties studied. A colorimetric procedure for the quantitative determination of diacetylmethylcarbinol has been described.

Colorimetric Properties of Photochromic Textiles
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013Photochromism is a chemical process in which a compound undergoes a reversible change between two states having separate absorption spectra, i.e. different colors. The change of color in one direction occurs under influence of electromagnetic radiation, usually UV light, and in the other direction by altering or removing the light source or ...

Removal of Ink by Defibration: Colorimetric Properties of Recycled Paper
Conference on Colour in Graphics, Imaging, and Vision, 2002The removal of roto ink from the newspaper prints by defibration is such a laboratory process, which does not demand the usage of any chemicals, but the ink is washed away by tap water. From the purified fibers, the new paper is produced. The lightness of such paper will be smaller than the lightness of the original paper.
