Abstract Structural, magnetic and transport properties of the polycrystalline manganese perovskite La 0.96−y Nd y K 0.04 MnO 3+δ with 0⩽y⩽0.4 have been experimentally studied. A partially disordered state is created as La is substituted by Nd, reflecting the competition between the ferromagnetic double-exchange and ...

Colossal magnetoresistance and relaxation phenomena
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 1998The magnetization and magnetoresistance of (A = Sr, Ca) single crystals have been studied in the static regime. The same characteristics have been investigated as functions of time in response to a sharp change of the magnetic field. The magnetic moment M, dynamic magnetic susceptibility , and resistivity are found to relax noticeably in the samples ...

Colossal Magnetoresistance in New Manganites
MRS Proceedings, 1999AbstractThe evolution of structural, electrical and magnetic properties with the isovalent chemical substitution of Ca2+ into the Sr2+ sites in new series of two-dimensional La1.2(Srl.8−XCax)Mn2O7 compounds (x = 0 ∼ 1.8) and three-dimensional La0.6(Sr0.4−xCax)MnO3 compounds (x = 0 ∼ 0.4) are investigated. The highest magnetoresistance (MR) ratios [ρ(0)

Ultrafast Conductivity Dynamics in Colossal Magnetoresistance Manganites
Physical Review Letters, 2001Ultrafast picosecond measurements of optically induced changes in the absolute conductivity (0.4-1.0 THz) of La0.7M0.3MnO3 thin films ( M = Ca, Sr) from 10 K to approximately 0.9 Tc reveal a two-component relaxation. A fast, approximately 2 ps, conductivity decrease arises from an optically induced modification of the effective phonon temperature.
