Colossal enhancement of magnetoresistance in La$_{0.67}$Sr$_{0.33}$MnO$_{3}$ / Pr$_{0.67}$Ca$_{0.33}$MnO$_{3}$ multilayers: reproducing the phase-separation scenario

open access: yes, 2008
Colossal enhancement of magnetoresistance has been achieved over a broad temperature range which extends upto the room temperature, in ferromagnetic metal-charge ordered insulator manganite multi-layers.

Hidden Charge‐Order in the Mixed‐Valent K0.75Li2Cr6O12 High‐Pressure Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
K0.75Li2Cr6O12 is one of the few mixed valent chromium oxides. It shows a single angle spiral magnetic structure with a k = [1/3 1/3 ¼] propagation vector. Density functional theory reveals a hidden charge order that is necessary to stabilize the antiferromagnetic (AFM) ground state.

Emergent Spin Fluctuation and Structural Metastability in Self‐Intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ Compounds

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Metastable superstructure and emergent spin fluctuation in self‐intercalated Cr1+xTe2${\rm Cr}_{1+x}{\rm Te}_2$ ABSTRACT Intercalated van der Waals (vdW) magnetic materials host unique magnetic properties due to the interplay of competing interlayer and intralayer exchange couplings, which depend on the intercalant concentration within the van der ...

Colossal magnetoresistance in manganites and related prototype devices [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Physics B, 2013
We review colossal magnetoresistance in single phase manganites, as related to the field sensitive spin charge interactions and phase separation; the rectifying property and negative/positive magnetoresistance in manganite/Nb:SrTiO3 pn junctions in relation to the special interface electronic structure; magnetoelectric coupling in manganite ...

Machine Learning‐Assisted Second‐Order Perturbation Theory for Chemical Potential Correction Toward Hubbard U Determination

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
In this work, the Doubao large language model (LLM) is involved in the formula derivation processes for Hubbard U determination regarding the second‐order perturbations of the chemical potential. The core ML tool is optimized for physical domain knowledge, which is not limited to parameter prediction but rather serves as an interactive physical theory ...

Colossal Negative Magnetoresistance Effect in a La1.37Sr1.63Mn2O7 Single Crystal Grown by Laser-Diode-Heated Floating-Zone Technique

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
We have grown La 1.37 Sr 1.63 Mn 2 O 7 single crystals with a laser-diode-heated floating-zone furnace and studied the crystallinity, structure, and magnetoresistance (MR) effect by in-house X-ray Laue diffraction, X-ray ...

Colossal Magnetoresistance in Manganites as a Multicritical Phenomenon [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2003
The colossal magnetoresistance in manganites AMnO_3 is studied from the viewpoint of multicritical phenomena. To understand the complicated interplay of various phases, we study the Ginzburg-Landau theory in terms of both the mean-field approximation and the renormalization-group analysis to compare with the observed phase diagram.

Surface Properties of CeB6 and Challenges in Surface Preparation Revealed by Scanning Tunneling Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
The investigation of the Kondo lattice system CeB6${\rm CeB}_6$ by highly surface sensitive techniques is hampered by difficulties in preparing well‐ordered, atomically flat surfaces. The richness of possible surface terminations and their impact on spectroscopic STM results are discussed.

Negative longitudinal magnetoresistance in the density wave phase of Y$_2$Ir$_2$O$_7$

open access: yes, 2018
The ground state of nanowires of single crystalline Pyrochlore Y$_2$Ir$_2$O$_7$ is a density wave. Application of a {\it transverse} magnetic field increases the threshold electric field for the collective de-pinning of the density wave state at low ...
